“Great hotel and service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

Was part of a group on business and stayed at this gem of a hotel! At first, when I received my itinerary, I thought we were staying at a Starwood property, but this was better! This property is a small, boutique, European-style hotel with impeccable service and in a great location. Ryan, the front desk clerk who checked us in, was incredible! It was late, we were tired, and he greeted us with such enthusiasm and a great smile that made for a wonderful welcome! The Jr Suite rooms are spacious and bathrooms are gorgeous. Very comfortable beds and large, flat screen TVs. The rate included breakfast: incredible cooked to order breakfast with a great dining room and friendly staff. The English pub next door is great for fish and chips and great sandwiches. I hope to stay here again the next time I'm in Vancouver.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a junior suite!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the St. Regis for one night and wish we could have stayed longer! We drove up from Seattle to attend a Barbra Streisand concert at Rogers Arena, which is only 1/2 mile from the hotel. Our double queen room was European sized, immaculate and extremely comfortable. Fluffy robes were provided, the beds and pillows were super comfortable. The staff was the BEST, really! We had to go around the block 3 times before we saw and read the sandwich board sign that told you to put your car's 4-way flashers on and come in and get a parking pass. I dropped Sue off, went around for the 3rd time and when I came back, she pointed me into an alley which provided access to an adjacent (but not attached) parking garage. We used the access card to open the gate, and were taking quite awhile to get parked and get our stuff -- so long that the hotel staff became concerned and one of them came to find us! How nice was that? He took our luggage right up to our room while we were getting checked in. Because we were short on time (lots of people from Seattle going to this concert so border crossing a little slow), we ate in the lounge of the attached restaurant and it was great. Our server accidentally quoted us a price for our bottle of wine that was $10 too low and when he realized it, came over and apologized and said he couldn't change the price of the wine but he could give us cocktails of our choice to make up for it. When we asked for a taxi at the front desk (I know, it was only 1/2 mile to the concert venue, but it was raining and we were in heels!), it was there for us within 1 minute. The included breakfast the next morning was way beyond expectations and excellent. I really couldn't be happier with our stay. I travel extensively and have stayed in hotels all around the world and this ranks way up there.

Room Tip: Only one small elevator, so you may prefer a room on a lower floor to make stair use easier.

After many trips to Vancouver and seeing the sign for this hotel, I never had any idea of the level of service and amenities provided until a recent stay. This hotel should certainly be on the top list of anyone traveling to this wonderful city. Every aspect of the hotel from rooms, service and ambiance are among the best I have experienced in Vancouver. The staff has a passion for their job, which is something you can not teach. There is no "nickel and diming" guests as internet, FULL breakfast, free bottled Fiji water, and ALL phone calls are included in the rate. Great location and two incredible food & beverage venues connected to the hotel will always keep me coming back.

We stayed at the St Regis for 3 nights in October and had a very comfortable stay. Our smart room was small but perfectly adequate with a big bathroom. It was decorated to a high standard with an extremely comfortable bed! Although our room overlooked a busy road there was no noise at all. The front desk staff were all extremely helpful & the complimentary breakfast was excellent with a hot and cold option each morning. Overall we would highly recommend this great value hotel as a base to explore Vancouver, the location is great!

We recently stayed at the St. Regis for 6 nights. The room (Smart Queen size) was not large - but more than adequate, as we are never in the room much when we travel anyway!
The bed was unbelievably comfortable, with great pillows. Towels and robes were soft and fluffy, bathroom was large with great walk-in shower, EVERYTHING very clean. Good quality bathroom toiletries.
Lots of plug-ins by the desk for all the chargers we all seem to have now.
We cannot say enough about the breakfast - provided as part of your stay - made hot to order individually - eggs, waffles, bacon, sausage, omelettes, FRESH fruit cups, etc - excellent. Very professional table service with good coffee, several types of fruit juice. But PLEASE don't forget to tip the servers - they deserve it - and yes, your breakfast is included in the room - but gratuity is NOT! A comparable breakfast - in a downtown hotel - would cost you at least $15-20 per person!
The attached pub is excellent as well - very good food. We did not try the Steakhouse.
All St. Regis staff were very professional, courteous, and friendly. Great business centre just off the lobby (computers/printer) if you need it.
Location could not be better. We walked all over downtown; we also used buses and cabs. Granville Island was a 10 minute bus/$10 cab ride, Stanley Park about the same (buses stop literally two minutes away). Pacific Centre mall is half a block away. Robson Street - LOTS of shopping, etc - two blocks. The waterfront (Canada Place) was about a 15 minute walk.
In our opinion there would be NO reason to stay anywhere else if you are staying in downtown Vancouver. Much better value, service, and accommodation than any of the larger hotels we have stayed at - and the price was unbelievable. We have CAA, so our rate was about $145 per night taxes included.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the back of the hotel - you will sacrifice view (you will face the side of another...

Immediately upon arrival the desk staff greeted us warmly and offered directions to anywhere we may be visiting. The room was quite small but not a deal-breaker since we weren't going to be spending much time inside. It had a small desk between the two beds, but definitely had no room for a club chair or a coffee table. It came stocked with quality amenities, including free bottled water and chocolates on the pillows. The quality of the fixtures in this hotel were evident in the bathroom, which was roomy and had a deep, soaker tub. It may sound a little silly to be impressed with the bathroom, but having stayed in a number of places with outdated fixtures, cracked tiles and mouldy grout, that this one was a particular treat. The beds are to-die-for comfortable. It was like sleeping on a supportive cloud. The in-room coffee machine was a nice touch, but unfortunately the single-serve coffee packets tasted terrible. WiFi worked like a charm and the hair dryer actually had some power! We loved the décor and all the beautiful, local artwork in the halls and lobby. While we did not eat in the adjacent restaurants, the breakfast (included in stay) was impressive. How lovely to be able to choose your made-to-order, hot breakfast off a menu instead of dishing out room temperature scrambled eggs out of a chafing dish. According to their website the hotel provides passes to a nearby fitness club, but we were never told about this by the desk staff. The hotel is right downtown and surrounded by every amenity you could need.

The best value in all of Vancouver, we paid $170 tax included for a Smart Queen size room. The hotel has free Internet, bottled water, free long diastase calls anywhere and a hot breakfast included Wow how do they do it. The great location makes it perfect for walking everywhere and shopping is very convenient. movies are only $9.99 in rooms
for those rainy days. The hotel is small but perfect for the business or family traveler. Remember they have bigger rooms for more $$$'s but the bathrooms are perfect size, great shower and layout. The staff are trainer to be super efficient and on the ball -they even have umbrellas at the desk for you to stay dry. Connected to a full Steve Nash workout center makes it perfect.
Best of all it is connected to the finest steak house in the city Gotham Steakhouse and bar I mean an outstanding steak house. Do not miss this outstanding value as we discovered it through Travel Advisor - it is a 2012 award winner and deserves to be in the top of it's class. My respect for Travel Advisor grows as they seem to work hard to get their award winning destination right- nice to be able to trust their selections.
