I wanted to pass on cudos to the staff of the Wedgewood Hotel and Spa in Vancouver for a wonderful stay on Aug 15th -16th, 2006. I really appreciated being able to check in as soon as I arrived into Vancouver from the West Coast Express at 8:30 in the morning. I could not have been more thankful. This small gesture allowed me to have a totally stress-free day. I almost cried I was so happy.

I stayed there as a surprise anniversay gift to my husband. We did not have a honeymoon and have not had a chance to get away alone since our son was born 4 years ago.

The staff is amazing. From the serving staff in the dining room to the room service and valet staff – everyone was so wonderful. The staff treat everyone with warmth and kindness...I felt like royalty.

The decor is breathtaking - art deco elegance...warm and beautiful. The location is perfect for shopping, sight seeing, or taking in the vibrant night life of Vancouver.

I will definitely return to the Wedgewood when I am looking for a mini-holiday stay.

I booked this hotel after reading other reviews on the site. As others have said it is centrally located but not noisy. You can walk anywhre in central Vancouver from here.
The room was very comfortable including a bath in the corner of the bedroom as well as a shower room. We had a balcony which we were lucky enough to be able to sit out on in October. There were chocolates in the room when we arrived and cookies every night.
The staff were helpful and attentive.
The bar is a lovely place to sit but it gets very crowded in late afternoon. The restaurant was also very good though a bit dark.
The spa and gymn are small but well equipped and the steam room was easy to use and got going quickly.
The business centre was empty every time we used it and had 2 computers for internet access.
I would recommend this hotel.

I had our top clients in Vancouver from the U.K. One of them is well traveled and a gourmet fiend. I was hosting a dinner and chose Bacchus Restaurant at the Wedgewood Hotel because I trusted them completely to make the evening a success - and they did, in spades. Our waiter helped me negotiate through the wine list so I didn't bankrupt our company but didn't embarass ourselves in front of our clients. The service throughout the dinner was superb and lacked nothing. The food presentation was terrific and everyone enjoyed their choice. Most importantly, the service was sincere and not put-on - the team clearly wanted to ensure our dinner was perfect.

Prior to dinner, we had cocktails in the bar - Christine, our server, was super attentive and adapted to the various "styles" of our guests - some were serious , some were more relaxed - she "read" each perfectly.

Our clients have entered into a long term partnership with our company because they value the commitment to high quality and service we think our company delivers. When asked why I chose to bring them to Bacchus at the Wedgewood - I said for the same reason - I value them and more importantly, trust them to do the right thing - all the time.

My husband and I went to Vancouver for our honeymoon and stayed at the Wedgewood for two nights. Overall, the Wedgewood was a lovely experience. When we arrived, the bellman was excellent and helpful throughout our stay. He had tips for food, sights and travel. The front desk was also helpful. We booked through expedia and were given a room with two beds. We requested one bed as we were on our honeymoon. The front desk was able to give us a room with a queen which was nice. The staff at the Wedgewood does like it if you can book through the hotel for more service. i.e. they would know it was your honeymoon etc. They did give us a gift of chocolates for our celebration which was sweet. The service at the hotel was wonderful. The front desk made reservations at restaurants for us quickly and the housekeeping staff was equally kind. Very friendly staff.
On a very minor note, the first night of turndown service we didn't get the famous warm cookies and water but other than that, the service was great.
The room was small and the tv was very small. The balcony was great!!! It made the small room seem much larger.

The Bacchus restaurant was fabulous. We had the tasting menu and was very pleased with the food and service and decor. The bar is excellent. Only thing I'd change is get rid of the singing piano player and go with instramental only. The waitress at the bar was probably the only indifferent person we encountered. Great atmoshphere in the lounge!!!

The spa seemed nice but it was hard to get an appointment that fit our schedule since it appears to be small and we cancelled our appointments. The steam room and gym were also nice but the steam was a little too in the open for our tastes. The business center was great too.

The price is high at the hotel and maybe other boutique hotels offer more but the service is excellent, the food is great and the location is perfect!

I would definitely recommend The Wedgewood!

My husband and I were desperate for a place to stay after a horrible night in another hotel the night before. Following a Vancouverite's recommendation, we called the Wedgewood and a short while later we were welcomed by their friendly doorman who proceeded to introduce us to the Front Desk clerk, equally friendly and very accommodating with all of our questions and special requests.

This place truly exceeded all our expectations!!! We stayed in one of their Deluxe Executive rooms, and we were wonderfully surprised by how very spacious and very luxurious it was, all in a tasteful understated way. Beautiful semi-canopied beds feature the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in with individually controlled reading lights, while a double soaker tub is right in the bedroom with a marble walk in shower in the bathroom. The amenities were great, but the warm cookies and bottled water at night were a real treat. We didn't have the opportunity to see any of their suites, or their famous new Penthouses which are apparently the current hot spots for Hollywood celebrities, but if our luxurious room is one of their second lowest categories, we can only imagine what their Penthouses must be like!!! What is outstanding though about this hotel is the friendliness of their Staff. They seem to have invented the word "service". From their delightful Executive Housekeeper, to the courteous room service attendant and very professional waiters. They all make you feel very much at home. We especially enjoyed our dinner in Bacchus. What a romantic room and the food was delicious. We couldn't get an appointment in their Spa, but we will make a point of trying it on our next visit. This is definitely one of the best places we have ever stayed - would recommend it without a second thought!!!!
