Just got back from a wonderful weekend in Vancouver. We stayed at Pacific Palisades for two nights. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone planning to visit Vancouver. Though it's not the newest or trendiest of the hotels available, the location and the staff can't be beat. Our room faced Robson, and the street noise was pretty minimal considering the amount of activity that was going on. And when the weather's as nice as it was last weekend, what's the point in spending all your time in the room?

If you're looking for a hotel that is situated in the center of it all, Pacific Palisades is it!

I was slightly worried about staying here after reading some of the reviews of the hotel but was overjoyed to find that it was actually really wonderful. I didn't notice anything like dog smells and the likes and found it really sweet that the hotel allowed all pets - only saw 3 dogs the entire time we were there.

We stayed in one of the South Beach Suites. Yes, the colours were a little lary but the bed was comfortable and we had a great balcony etc.

The hotel was in a fabulous location .. right off Robson St in the heart of downtown Vancouver. The hotel staff were really helpful with anything we needed from directions, to Vancouver information to room service and everything was done with a smile.

Highly recommended.

My husband and I just got back from vacaction in Vancouver where we stayed at the Pacific Palisades hotel for three nights. We stayed in a Executive Suite with a view of the water, mountains and city. The dining and living room area was very roomy with a balcony and kitchenette decorated in refreshing citrus colors. The bathroom was also very roomy. Although the one bedroom was not as roomy, it included a comfortable king size bed and a walk in closet. Besides being spacious, the suite was very clean.

Both my husband and I were very pleased with the hotel staff and location. If we were going to complaint about something it would be about the rough bath towels and the slight noise you can hear from the city. Then again the hotel is located on Robson Street which is always packed with people.

The hotel also has a fabulous gym, pool and spa. These are great for anyone who is interested.

Needless to say, we very much enjoyed our stay at the Pacific Palisades hotel. As a result, we highly recommend it.

If you are a AAA member request their AAA prices. They are quite affordable considering you'll be staying in a city.

My partner and I visited Vancouver and spent a total of four nights at this lovely hotel. It is right on Robson with great shopping and you can easily get anywhere in the city. After researching the hotel before arrival I signed up for their free Kimpton in Touch program which gives you preferential treatment and trip rewards after a certain number of stays. It was our honeymoon and they upgraded us to a Suite the first two nights. All the rooms are cheery with yellows and cheery artwork. The first night we were there they sent up a complimentary bottle of wine to celerate! The views of the water were incredible. the staff was ever so kind, and the Bistro resteraunt was fabulous!
I highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again!

Pacific Palisades was very disappointing. It is advertised as a 4 star hotel, but I would rate it along the same lines as a Holiday Inn or Best Western. That is my major complaint--we paid for a 4 star hotel and got about a 2.5 or 3. Also, the hotel caters to pet-owners to an excess. It's one thing to simply allow pets at the establishment; it's another to have doggie treats, a dog house and toys (and an unpleasant smell) in the lobby. We asked for a pet-free room, and were told that the pets are allowed anywhere in the hotel, so they can't offer anything pet-free.

Pacific Palisades is WAY overpriced. Including the $27/day parking charge, we paid over $240 for this place. I wouldn't have given a second thought to the price if it had been the quality of a Westin, a Hilton, a Sheraton, even a Doubletree. But it was pretty bad. I will say that the bed was very comfortable, and the service was fine. When we expressed our disappointment that there were no pet-free rooms, we were offered some free ice cream, so that was nice.

Here are the reasons I would NEVER return to Pacific Palisades: 1. POOR QUALITY: Paint was chipping off of the orange-painted desk. The towels were scratchy. The plastic garbage bins and doggie water bowl were from IKEA (the price tags were left on) which seems kind of cheap. A large dent in the wall. 2. CLEANLINESS: There were two large stains on the fabric-covered headboards--gross! Some sort of spray on the back of the door. Toilet was not clean. Mildew between shower tiles. 3. PETS: The lobby smelled, and the most offensive thing was entering our room to find a plastic dog bowl filled with dog biscuits on the desk. And a chewy/squeaky hamburger shaped dog toy. Disgusting.

I suppose that if you cannot leave precious Fifi at home, and if you don't mind cheap accommodations, this would be your dream hotel. But we were hoping for a cleaner, nicer, pet-free environment. Next time, the Westin!
