My hubby and I stayed there for the second half of our winter honeymoon. It's located on the upper end of Robson but definitely close to everything-great shops and restaurants. Check in was fast and the room was ready early for us to drop our bags and venture out quickly. The concierge and staff there were extremely helpful with directions and tips. Kudos to Carol for getting us tickets to the sold out Canucks game! The spa and workout facilities were great (not like we worked out but it was nice to know that they have it). We basically had the whirlpool and sauna to ourselves later at night. Room was located in the west tower and it was a bit narrow in the hallways. The ice machine was located on the parking level and was not working. However, one call to the front desk and room service had ice up to us in a jiffy. Nice touches with Aveda bath products and no charge "forgot it" items. Most likely stay there again because the staff were so accommodating!

  • Liked — Indoor pool and friendly staff.
  • Disliked — Room was okay but we were out and about most of the time anyways.

We stayed at the Palisades for 2 nights in November and were very impressed.
Having never been to Vancouver before we weren't sure what area to stay in but reading reviews on the site this seemed to be an ideal choice.

We weren't disappointed as Robson street which the hotel is situated on has plentiful bars and restaurants and the waterfront is a short 10 minute walk away.

Checking in was fast and easy thanks to the friendly and efficient staff. Our room was large (king size bed) with a great view across the city to the waterfront and mountains behind. Microwave, kettle and iron were all located within the room although with so many restaurants and a Starbucks over the road we never used them.

I will definitely stay at the Palisades on my next Vancouver trip mainly based upon the location and quality of the room.

I stayed at Pacific Palisades with my boyfriend on a trip to Vancouver, BC. The staff was very helpful during check in and I didn't have any trouble getting the exact room I had reserved. The room was a little worn, but very comfortable and the view (mountain, harbor and city) was amazing on the 21st floor. The location was great. We were able to walk around the Robson shopping district and walk to Stanley park. I wish I could have stayed longer.

Dear ‘red325ix,’

Thank you so much for posting your thoughts and comments about our hotel on Trip Advisor.

I am glad that even though ‘the room was a little worn,’ you and your boyfriend still had a great and enjoyable stay with us and I’m glad you found time to relax. The Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group is working very closely with the owners of the hotel to ensure that all products are updated and improved in the not too distant future.

Hopefully when you return for an extended stay we will be new and improved.

Sincerely,

Nov 20, 2008 | Trip type: Friends getaway

My friend and I booked this hotel to stay at while we were in town for a Canucks game.
From the moment we walked in to the beautiful and unique lobby we knew we came to the right hotel!
The staff at front desk were very very very helpful and accommodating. They checked us in a couple hours earlier than check in which was great because we had tons of luggage.
The room was very very clean and roomy, it was like an apartment not a hotel room. The beds were also very comfortable, and I liked that they used quality toiletries from Aveda.
The room we got was exactly to our specifications (corner room, with a balcony, near the top floors). We both had a very good nights rest because there was not a whole lot of noise from the street below when your on the 12th floor.
The location of the hotel was great, and everything (tons of shopping!!!) was all close by, plus there was a Starbucks just a stones throw outside the hotel (this is a pre-requisite for me haha).
The front desk was very helpful and brought us up a hairdryer, tooth brushes, and tooth paste. They also had available curling irons and straightening irons which was pretty cool, although we both had packed our own.
The manager also called and left a message welcoming us to the hotel and insisting we call if we need anything (that never happens at other hotels!).
Another great thing is we had stayed out late the night before and were running behind schedule the next morning and they let us stay after checkout time for no additional charge. Than they went even further and offered to keep our luggage at the hotel in a secure area while we shopped around the city for the afternoon.
I would highly highly recommend this hotel (I have already raved about it to several people) and definitely plan to return someday!

We stayed for 6 days at the Pacific Palisades a couple of weeks ago, we stayed on the 21st floor over looking the float plane terminal. The view was fantastic. We booked only a couple of weeks before travelling and did very little research but this is a hotel that was hard to fault. The reception staff were excellent and extremely helpful from check-in to departure , but especially in between for advice on how to get to various attractions and things to see and do.

The hotel was spotlessly clean (as is the rest of Vancouver that we saw) and the room was considerably larger than that for a normal chain hotel. The room a one large double bed, flat screen TV, and desk and armchair plus room to actually move about and not keep bumping into things. The bathroom had complementary Aveda products plus there was a kitchen area with fridge, microwave and coffee machine.

As 1st time tourists on a quick visit the hotel is in a great location, we walked to and from Stanley Park and the Aquarium, sea wall walk back is breathtaking, Granville Island, Gastown, Downtown and Chinatown. Although, there are taxi’s always outside the hotel and on the occasions that we used them were cheap and a quick way to get about.

The only minor faults were that the rooms had no safes although there are guest’s safes in the reception. Secondly that the restaurant was seemed to be too detached from the main hotel, we only ate in there once and we were the only people and it was early evening, having said that the food and the service was excellent. but, neither of these were

I’ve already recommended the hotel to my parents who are staying after a cruise and will definitely be staying here again myself.

Dear Davetheaddick,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a nice review of the Pacific Palisades Hotel.

I really appreciate the fact that you mention it’s a great hotel in a great location, our great staff with useful recommendations for tourists, the bathroom amenities and the cleanliness of the property.

Regarding your comments about the restaurant, please know that we have a new Executive Chef, Karen Gin, and she is just one of many improvements we have made to the hotel restaurant while we revitalize our food & beverage program. Many of the rewards of this revitalization are already evident and I invite your parents to dine with us when they visit.

Please let me know when your parents stay with us. I will do everything I can to impress them just as we have impressed you. Hopefully it won’t be too long before you return also.

Thank you again for your kind words.

Sincerely,

Bert le Roux
