The public market at Granville Park is great. Lots of choices, wide variety in price points. Good spot for lunch.

“Food Glorious Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

If you are a foodie than you must visit GI. Whether you are a local that shops for the freshest ingredients from the fish market, the butchers, organic vegetables and so much more or just to take photos of the colourful stands and local artists you will love it. Take the Aquabus Ferry after to English Bay to see more of this beautiful city!!!

“A rather unique place in the Lower Mainland.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

Let’s say you are visitor to Vancouver and want to see something unique. Go to Granville Island. Of course, it is really a peninsula, but why quibble. Here you have an old industrial site converted to a funky place with a large Market, many small shops, Emily Carr University of Art and Design, restaurants, and a cement factory. No outlets from chains though, just independent shops and theaters. This is the place for BC crafts. You not only find the Craft Council of BC store here but also Circle Craft and independent crafters at the Granville Island Market, as well as in separate stores here and there. We have had a number of lunches there over the years, though many more coffees and desserts. However, amateur acrylic painter that I am, the Opus Art Supplies store has had a few visits and Dollars from me. I fear though that once Emily Carr University moves to its new campus, this store may move also. Don’t expect to pay less at the Granville Island Market than elsewhere. On the contrary, I have found prices for vegetables, fruit, cheese, fish, etc. to be a touch high. Over the years, we have been entertained by a variety of street performers. Mind you, there will be more of these performers as the weather warms up. Then, if you are up to it, there is always the aquabus that can take you to various places along False Creek.

This is a very busy place. lots of neat little shops and the market is great but hard to get around in because there are so many people.Lots of street performers, some are quite good. Agood way to spend a couple of hours.
