I stayed at the Bayshore on two separate occasions during a two week visit to Canada - once for three nights and another one night stay later on.
When booking my vacation, I was assured that all my hotels were of excellent quality. In the case of the Bayshore, I'd beg to differ somewhat.
Check-in/check-out: no problems here, though you might have to queue. The staff were friendly and pleasant, but didn't offer me any help with my luggage.
Facilities: there's a pool (which I didn't try) and a number of shops (including a Starbucks, which is handy if you don't want to eat breakfast in the restaurant).
Eating: I only ate once, sampling breakfast. There was a decent range of food available, though it was fairly expensive. Service was reasonable, nothing more.
Room-wise: I stayed initially on the third floor, and then on the ninth floor. Both rooms were of a good size and had a decent-sized bathroom. For some reason, though, the shower did not have a door that closed, so if I had a shower, the bathroom would rapidly fill with steam. In addition, the storage where you hang your clothes is right next to the shower, in the same room, so you might end up steam-cleaning your clothes if you take a long shower.
Beds were not all that great. I had a huge number of pillows to choose from, most of which were too soft and one of which was too hard. So, no pillows for me.
Noise-wise, the third floor room was appalling. This was thanks to the many seabirds in the area, which made a huge amount of noise at all hours of the night. This meant that I got very little sleep at all during my first visit (not aided by being jet lagged). The ninth floor room was somewhat better, perhaps due to its height and being on a different side of the hotel.
Location-wise, the hotel is perfect for Stanley Park, which is five minutes or so walk by foot. It's not much good for anything else, so you'll need to catch a bus or walk to down-town. There is a convenient taxi stand right outside the hotel.
If I had the opportunity, I would not stay at the Bayshore again, mainly due to the location and the noise from outside.
