“Incredible collection of First Nations art and artifacts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2014 NEW

I bought a Groupon to visit the Museum and I am so glad I took advantage of the offer to see a vast array of impressive First Nations artifacts and artistic masterpieces up close. The lackluster name of the museum disguises just how magnificent the collection is. You will not regret a visit there.

“Wonderful museum!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2014 NEW

I spent time visiting this fantastic museum on Christmas Eve.
It contains a huge amount of First Nations artifacts, that have been kindly donated to the museum by various First Nation families from around the province and country.

The drawers that are below each waist height display were even more exciting than the top displays in some cases.

Great effort has been made to tell the various stories of the artifacts and the families. I am very proud to think this world class museum, just as good as some in NYC, is available to visitors right in Vancouver.

“One of the top museums in the world”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2014 NEW

I have visited this museum on each of my 3 trips to Vancouver and have never failed to be fascinated and impressed by the wonderful displays and the culture on show. Do take a free guided tour - the tour guides explain the complexities of the First Nations cultural icons and the differences in styles of the different nations on the West Coast.
And then there is the Multiverse, where artefacts from all over the world are gathered and curated. You could spend weeks here and still not see it all. An absolute must-visit! Oh and leave some time for the gift shop. Unlike most museums this is stocked with gorgeous items at very reasonable prices.

try to read up on it before you go, so you know a little bit about it. I thought it was very good. mind you we went on a sunny day, so even the view and the drive there was awesome. very helpful staff. we had a tour group. it takes about 2 hours , give or take.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2014 NEW

Incredible collection of First Nations Coastal Art and art from other cultures. Amazing large sculptures in the grand hall. The Chinese opera outfits are amazing. This is a must go place to visit in Vancouver. I always encourage guests to go.
