“Impressive hotel in a great city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

Vancouver is an amazing city to visit but the Pan Pacific offers great service and comfort in a perfect location to enjoy the waterfront and downtown attractions. Views are incredible and room decor and comfort is as good as you could hope for anywhere in the world - I highly recommend the hotel

Room Tip: All the rooms seem great but our room in particular had an amazing outlook toward the mountains and...

The woman at the front desk was one of the rudest ever! We wanted to try and book an extra night ( i.e. give them more $) and she acting like we were putting her out. Moved across the street to the Fairmont. Views were just as good from corner room and they let us check in early.

Stayed at the Pan Pacific from July 6th to 11th. Perfect weather. This hotel is spectacular in it's placement in Vancouver Harbour. Incredible sunsets every night from our room window, let alone outside at the pool/jacuzzi. Great helpful staff, got a restaurant recommendation from the concierge that turned out to be our best meal in Vancouver: Rodney's Oyster House in Gastown. Another excellent restaurant is the Chilean "Silvestre" in Gastown. Both of these establishments are reasonably priced and offer excellent quality food. Took the cable car up Grouse mountain, beautiful views - went Whale watching too. Back to the hotel to sleep in very comfortable beds and very well maintained rooms. Pan Pacific Vancouver was great!
The only thing I would recommend to the hotel to change is to remove access altogether of children in the jacuzzi. Jacuzzis are for adults.

Room Tip: Go to the Jacuzzi or Pool early in the morning - before 9:00am to avoid children or when they are no...

We stayed at the hotel for a day after our Alaska cruise. The ship was scheduled to arrive around 8:00 a.m., so I asked in advance if we might have early access to our room--never really expecting to get into a hotel room at 9:00. Much to my delight, they had a room for us when we arrived. The room itself was spectacular, with a panoramic view of the harbor. The location of the hotel cannot be beat. It was raining when we disembarked, but we were able to walk a short distance totally under cover to the hotel. Truly, everything about the hotel was first-rate. My only regret is that we had not planned to stay another day or two to enjoy Vancouver and the hotel even more.

Our room had a wonderful view of the harbor in Vancouver. Not only could we watch the cruise ships come and go but we were able to see the float planes as they landed! The hotel even surprised me with a plate of chocolate covered strawberries in honor of my recent retirement. The location of the hotel was perfect as the tour buses stop directly in front and there is a shopping mall across the street which you access via an underground walkway from the hotel. I will definitely go back to the Pan Pacific.

There are many hotel choices in Vancouver, but I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The hotel staff is beyond courteous and helpful. The rooms were stylish, immaculate and stocked with high-end toiletries. My husband and I opted for a harbor-view room on the concierge floor. It was well worth the upgrade, with a stunning view, private concierge service, and daily breakfast, drinks and evening cocktails.

Room Tip: The view is stunning and worth the upgrade.

At first glance, I was skeptical about this hotel. It is massive and caters to cruise ship passengers so I wondered if it would feel big and impersonal. Nothing could be further from the truth. First of all, the hotel has the most helpful and friendly staff members. The concierge repeatedly helped us with dinner reservations and other recommendations and even shipped a package for me that needed to get back to the U.S. The front desk staff were efficient and accommodating, as was the waitstaff at the hotel bar. Secondly, the hotel's location could not be more astoundingly beautiful. It is surrounded by an unmatched view of water and mountains that is stare worthy. The hotel is also in walking distance of several excellent restaurants around the Coal Harbour area as well as on the waterfront and both restaurant/bar destination Gastown and the Downtown areas are a 10-15 minute walk away. If you are in the mood for a long walk, you can even meander from the Pan Pacific over to Stanley Park along the water. Don't miss the gorgeous outdoor heated salt water pool. The view is possibly best seen from there. Third, the rooms are wonderful. I don't think I have ever had a better night's sleep at the hotel. The beds are heavenly and everything is spotlessly clean. The hotel also has an excellent fitness center, which is located a bit far away from the lobby but is worth the walk. It is also impeccably clean and stocked with great, modern equipment. It even has windows, which cannot be said for all hotel gyms. I highly recommend the Pan Pacific. I can hardly imagine what would have made it better. A final note: I stayed at the hotel for a conference and received the group rate. Normally, the Pan Pacific is quite pricey so I may not have seen the same value had I paid full price.

Room Tip: All rooms have nice views but those with views of the harbor are preferable. Even if it is a few ext...
