Arriving late on a Friday night during the holiday season, our first impression may have been atypical. However, it appeared that the Pacific Rim is a very hip place to see and be seen. Spectacularly decorated for the holidays, the lobby was buzzing with people dressed to the nines and in the holiday spirit. Limousines were lined up outside the door, the parkinge parking garage was full, and valet parking was required. Check in was very efficient. We were soon through the party crowd in the lobby and up to the peace and quiet of our room. Great bedding. Great air quality. Great city view. Well located within easy walking distance of downtown attractions. The hotel features lots of high tech toys and original artwork, the latter explained in a book located in the room for those who want to read about the art pieces and the hotel's aromatherapy. I admit that the word "pretentious" did flit through my mind as I read the book from cover to cover but we would stay at the Pacific Rim again without question. Another jewel in the Fairmont's crown.

The title of my review pretty much says it all. The room was jaw-droppingly stunning, spotless, more than adequately spacious, very comfortable, and the bathroom was luxurious. Check in & check out were a breeze. I will definitely return!

I stayed here for 2 nights after my wedding. Although pricey, the experience was top-notch. The room was perfectly clean, totally comfortable, and they didn't miss a beat. Champagne and chocolate strawberries in the room, and the iPad that they provide you even welcomed us under our new (married) last name!

Relaxing the the outdoor pool was a perfect way to unwind. The pool is so warm - it was a rainy day and I could have spent all day out there.

This is an excellent hotel with beautiful rooms and fantastic facilities, which is why we put our employees up each year when we hold our annual end of year event at the adjacent convention centre. However I received appalling service from the moment I arrived - must have been the way we were dressed? Or our older car? I can obviously afford to stay here, so don't appreciate being judged based on appearance. The valet treated us with disrespect, front desk was curt and no one picked up the phone when we called down in the morning. Also, our friend who was babysitting our young baby needed a cab back home at 2am and the concierge refused to call a cab saying "we can't order or flag cabs". What?? This is a hotel! My husband walked two steps out the door and flagged it himself. The only friendly person we encountered during our stay was housekeeping.

I will recommend to our company to book our staff elsewhere next year. Cannot believe this is 5-star service in Vancouver. What a joke.
