“Ultra Modern, Comfortable & Quiet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

Arriving late on a Friday night during the holiday season, our first impression may have been atypical. However, it appeared that the Pacific Rim is a very hip place to see and be seen. Spectacularly decorated for the holidays, the lobby was buzzing with people dressed to the nines and in the holiday spirit. Limousines were lined up outside the door, the parkinge parking garage was full, and valet parking was required. Check in was very efficient. We were soon through the party crowd in the lobby and up to the peace and quiet of our room. Great bedding. Great air quality. Great city view. Well located within easy walking distance of downtown attractions. The hotel features lots of high tech toys and original artwork, the latter explained in a book located in the room for those who want to read about the art pieces and the hotel's aromatherapy. I admit that the word "pretentious" did flit through my mind as I read the book from cover to cover but we would stay at the Pacific Rim again without question. Another jewel in the Fairmont's crown.

The title of my review pretty much says it all. The room was jaw-droppingly stunning, spotless, more than adequately spacious, very comfortable, and the bathroom was luxurious. Check in & check out were a breeze. I will definitely return!

Thank you Pacific Rim!

I stayed here for 2 nights after my wedding. Although pricey, the experience was top-notch. The room was perfectly clean, totally comfortable, and they didn't miss a beat. Champagne and chocolate strawberries in the room, and the iPad that they provide you even welcomed us under our new (married) last name!

Relaxing the the outdoor pool was a perfect way to unwind. The pool is so warm - it was a rainy day and I could have spent all day out there.

Thank you for a great experience.

This is an excellent hotel with beautiful rooms and fantastic facilities, which is why we put our employees up each year when we hold our annual end of year event at the adjacent convention centre. However I received appalling service from the moment I arrived - must have been the way we were dressed? Or our older car? I can obviously afford to stay here, so don't appreciate being judged based on appearance. The valet treated us with disrespect, front desk was curt and no one picked up the phone when we called down in the morning. Also, our friend who was babysitting our young baby needed a cab back home at 2am and the concierge refused to call a cab saying "we can't order or flag cabs". What?? This is a hotel! My husband walked two steps out the door and flagged it himself. The only friendly person we encountered during our stay was housekeeping.

I will recommend to our company to book our staff elsewhere next year. Cannot believe this is 5-star service in Vancouver. What a joke.

Stayed here with our two kids (8 & 9) for a weekend getaway. We opted for a one-bedroom suite and it was spectacular, with more than enough room for all of us. The lobby is bustling and gorgeous and our room was beautiful. Floor-to-ceiling windows, two large bathrooms, modern decor, and an actual comfy sofa-bed made this suite one of the nicest we've stayed in. A sweeping view of Coal Harbour didn't hurt either.
As usual, the Fairmont service was excellent, and they went out of their way to welcome our kids and us. We borrowed bikes from the hotel and went for a bike ride around Stanley Park, played in their outdoor pool (it was cool when we were there but they crank the pool temperature), and walked around the area. We've never spent a lot of time in the Coal Harbour area so it was nice to see what it was like. That it is close to the water, to shopping and Stanley Park make it ideal for a family trip. Also want to point out the excellent concierge service we had. They arranged on short notice for a babysitter for us and a reservation for dinner, then were very good about cancelling it all when my husband fell ill with a 24-hour tummy bug. We are looking forward to going back soon.

If you like new high tech hotels, this is the place to stay. And if you like Asian food, then you are set. If you are good, and ask the chef nicely, you just might be able to get his special peanut butter and chocolat panini without having to prove you can eat sherbert with chop sticks...

Room Tip: the view of the water is very nice

Stayed at this hotel for a conference and rented a mountain view suite on 16th floor as I had my wife and my daughter with me.Two bathrooms and pull out couch for my daughter was great.
After an initial miscue on check in and a spa treatment that was booked and not confirmed, management went out of their way to rectify the situation.Cudo'd to guest relations manager,Liam Ransome and his team for stepping up to the plate. The cost of the suite was under $400 and included an amazing breakfast I will relate to later
There is definite advantage in a President's club membership and it's value is more evident in this hotel than many other comparable hotel membership plans.
Room was excellent-very modern and automated-room cleaning efficient and very timely-nicely appointed amenities in the bathrooms
There is not one staff person and I repeat not one person who doesn't contribute to the guest experience.Great bar staff-Cudos to their doormen-best in the business-shout out to Chris Shellard and others who make your life very easy whether arriving or leaving-Presidents Club affords you the luxury of a fleet of BMW's to take you just about anywhere downtown and pick you up.
Cudo's to Lisa Convery and staff at ORU.Breakfast buffet like I have never seen.(see the photo's below)Staff that I have never encountered in a buffet style setting. They actually talk to you and ask you about your day ,your stay and remember you the next day. They are there for directions to shopping, for topping up your juice, your coffee and all the while making you feel right at home in their city. When you return to your room in the evening there is even a note from them hoping you had a good day recalling the conversation in the morning and welcoming you back for breakfast the next morning. What a nice touch!
I didn't try the pool and hot tub but friends did and rated it well you might guess by now.
Spa is excellent as is the work out room, showers ,steam room.

You would think they paid me for this review but I you can see I am not alone in my praise for this hotel and it's staff. In a class by itself.
