“Fab”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012 via mobile

A great location in the centre of Vancouver.

This chic hotel immediately catches the eye on entry, with it's large modern glass fire place and live music in the early evening, creating a lively ambience.

Check-in was friendly and one knew just by the corridors leading to the rooms, that the stay was going to be comfortable.

On entry, the room was fresh and stylish, with all amenities such as: full minibar, Nespresso coffee making facilities, safe, modern TV including a further TV with remote control in the bathroom mirror and thoughtful touches like an umbrella.

The sound system was great, with a cable pack to connect just about any device you may have. An IPad was available in addition, which further functioned as a remote control for opening the electric curtains and drapes, adjusting the heating and mood lighting etc.

The ability to switch to low level lighting changed the dynamics of the room and made for a great movie night.

For the none techie guests, all the above could be controlled by buttons on the wall.

Having specifically chose a poolside room, the balcony led directly onto the pool deck with its outdoor swimming pool and hot tub, both heated to allow swimming in the Canadian rain !

The bathroom was spacious with separate tub and walk in shower, bathrobes, plenty of fluffy towels and toiletries.

Only slight negative was wardrobe space, being a tad small.

In summary, not cheap, but worth every penny (cent). Would I return? Yes, in a heart beat.

“Stylish and welcoming: a rare combination”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

We had two nights and loved every minute of our stay. Very smart rooms and well laid out bathrooms with everything you could want. A view of the waterfront is hard to beat: a constant panorama of seaplanes and boats. A huge and very well equipped gym, and we particularly liked the coffee bar/deli semi-integrated on the ground floor. Immaculate concierge who even went and picked up some shopping for me in advance of arrival.

“Modern Luxury, Warm World-Class Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

We spent a long weekend in Vancouver and chose the Pacific Rim based on location, design, and great reviews. As we were a little late in the planning, our first night was in a regular room and then we moved up to a room on the club floor. Staff moved our baggage to the new room for us while we were out exploring the city. Both rooms were excellent -- new, spacious, clean, modern. Each room has an iPad that did duty as hotel guidebook, room service portal, and environmental control. The club floor room was on a higher floor with its own balcony and access to the club lounge. From our balcony, we relaxed to views of Stanley Park, the seaplane port, and snow-capped mountains. The club lounge does a complimentary breakfast, evening canape service, and then a dessert service with excellent and inventive fare (wine & cocktails are extra). The lounge itself is spacious, with many comfortable chairs, sofas, and its own outdoor balcony seating with stunning views. For getting around the downtown area, the hotel provides a free BMW car service, which was quite helpful for our forays to Davie Street. The hotel's bar has a lively scene in its own right, often with live musicians or singers. All staff were welcoming, attentive, and friendly, from the front desk to housekeeping. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Splurge on rooms on the club levels for private balconies, club lounge amenities, and dedicated staf...

“My Favourite Hotel.....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012 via mobile

I love Vancouver. To me, it's the best City on the planet. The Coal Harbour / Convention Centre area is also one of my favourite areas. I was lucky to be there for the Canada Day celebrations and spent around a month in total at the "Pac Rim".

Now a lot of hotels have great photos to entice you. This one is no exception. A lovely bar, great food, very modern (although the digital room experience was baffling at times I did enjoy watching TV in the bathroom mirror as I shaved!). The best part of it however is a collection of about 8 rooms in total which surround the pool area. They have their own patios looking out onto the pool and hot tub, with a roaring fireplace for comfort. Within three steps you in the pool. A magnificent place to spend quality time. Not sure what the other rooms are like but when I return I will always grab one of these poolside patio rooms.

Cannot be faulted.
