“First class hotel opposite the convention centre and harbour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2011

New hotel with funky cafe, dining and bar areas, beautiful rooms with TV sets built into the bathroom mirror , great bed, and fittings, fast free wireless everywhere. This hotel is great, they have bikes to use, a nice pool area and a top gym. bit of a walk to the main shopping area but close to the waterfront and Stanley Park.

We stayed for one night post Alaskan cruise. We were able to check into our suite at 9am - which was very appreciated. Our suite was STUNNING. Definitely one of the best rooms I've ever stayed in. The spa was unusual - in that it was a sit in square bath - and the view great. Staff were wonderful. The location was great. And the view from our room spectacular.

This is a very nice fairmont property with spectacular views of the harbour and mountains of the beautiful city of Vancouver. For a treat we stayed for two nights and had an upgraded room with a wonderful view. The reception was warm on arrival, and the bed was great, as are all Fairmont beds. We arrived after 7pm and the lounge had "reserved" signs on many of the tables so there were no available seats at all there, even though there was space, and the wine-bar (really a lunch counter spot by day with a different menu at night) had plastic chairs to sit on, with a cafeteria feel that doesn't suit a Fairmont property, so we tried the restaurant. The restaurant was not value for money at all - going elsewhere is easily done as there are numerous restaurants just a few blocks away that could give you a much finer meal than we had for our $200. The atmosphere at the restaurant wasn't matching the hotel either. Every noise echoed around the stark floors and walls, and made it very loud and un-inviting. Just not an intimate dining experience at all.
Room service was great, and we loved our room. My wife enjoyed her spa experience, and the location is fantastic, so overall it was enjoyable, it just needs to re-think the "wine bar", reserving the lounge tables, and frankly the restaurant is a complete miss.

Room Tip: ask for a harbour view, upper floor.

We had a good time at the outdoor pool with other families visiting on board to Disney cruise to Alaska, this hotel is right across the cruise ship terminal, me and my daughter tried out the Heron restaurant at the fairmont waterfront nearby , we had a lovely dinner, we would not know how lovely Vancouver is until we actually live in this beautiful hotel at our leisure time. We enjoyed our stay.

We have stayed at many, many 5 star hotels all over the world and this one ticks all the boxes.
We were celebrating my husbands birthday and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay feel special. The suite was lovely with wonderful views. The lobby and bar area has a very energetic atmosphere and a real wow factor to the design. I would happily stay here again.

This hotel is very modern, beautifully finished and in a great location We were surprised and delighted by the TV within the bathroom mirror and the touch button operation of the net curtains and drapes. The check-in staff, concierge and bell people were all extremely friendly. The valet parking was good value for us as we used our car during the stay, thus saving on cab fares. We also availed ourselves of the free bike rental offered in return for signing up for free to the Fairmont loyalty program. We enjoyed watching the float planes landing and thought the view from our room was superb, despite the proximity of the grass roof of the neighbouring Convention Centre. The pool was great, with an excellent view of the art deco Marine Building and the hotel;s own Rock Star Suite. The room rate was very reasonable (obtained directly from Fairmont's website as a non-refundable deal).

The Fairmont Pacific Rim sits across the street from Vancouver's cruise ship terminal and has a lovely view across the water towards North Vancouver. The hotel feels very new and I wouldn't be surprised if it weren't less than two years old.

We stayed in a Signature Room which gave us a few extra hundred square feet of living space, more windows through which to enjoy the view and a large plunge bathtub that we never ended up using. The room was very comfortable and very high tech. Electric controls for curtains, sheers, lights and just about everything else were at our fingertips.

The room's desk also had a panel with assorted audio and video inputs (including S-video, component and HDMI) that were directly connected to the plasma tv and the stereo amplifier... very high tech indeed. Had I known, I would have been able to plug my laptop directly into the room's audio-visual system.

The hotel is happening, particularly on weekend evenings. There is jazz in the lobby bar and young people by the score dressed up for a night out. It was noisy in the lobby, but kind of fun to return to the hotel after a day's exploring to find we were the only people in sight that weren't all dressed up. Despite the lively scene, our room was whisper quiet and we slept very well indeed.

Particular mention should be made of the staff which delivers impeccable service yet remains very friendly and relaxed. They seemed more like the staff at a high end mountain resort hotel than a city hotel. They are very attentive and we felt exceedingly well looked after.

We've been fortunate enough to stay at some pretty great city hotels around the world. At first glance, the Fairmont Pacific Rim seemed to be comfortably in the middle of the pack. However, with each passing night (we spent 3) we found our fondness for the hotel steadily increasing.

Add the fact that they had a room in the fitness centre where we could adjust the heat and do our morning yoga practice, we were very happy indeed with our choice. No other hotel in the city (including the Four Seasons, Shangri-La and other Fairmont properties) could offer us this all-important amenity for us.

Overall, we had a great visit and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again the next time we found ourselves in Vancouver.

Enthusiastically recommended.
