“Coast Coal Harbour Beautiful Hotel,Awesome Staff & Great Location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

We arrived the afternoon of the 26th of June for the Kiwanis International convention and were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. She even got a map out and showed us a number of sites, restaurants and shops close by.Our sister who lives in Vancouver spent the 1st nite with us and was brought in a cot (which was actually a real bed all made up) at the time we requested! We had a corner room with a beautiful view of the water between the surrounding tall buildings, a surprise and thrill for all of us! The bed was super comfy and the bathroom had a lovely deep soaker tub and bath products that were absolutely amazing. My sister and I both have very sensitive skin AND NO REACTIONS!!!!The maids also were fantastic and when we asked for more coffee for the in room coffee maker gave us 2 extra, yay! Oh 1 more cool thing the bathroom had a timed heat lamp which I turned on for extra light while putting on my makeup. The only negative was the small closet, so we just didn't unpack. Would stay again for sure!

Room Tip: Go for the corner room with the awesome view and lots of light!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on the Coast Coal Harbour Hotel. Our location gets mentioned quite frequently and for good reason. We are centrally located in the city, close to the water, the convention centre and the famous Robson Street shopping district. Vancouver is such a walkable city that you can easily tour the city on foot. We would love to see you back real soon!

We and another couple booked two rooms from one of the consolidator sites that "hides" the hotel's identity until you have booked. We wanted a 4* and took a chance. Good choice - great prices for a Fri-Mon weekend. The front desk upgraded us to view rooms and all went well. We did not eat at their restaurant, but it looked fine. There are many, many places in the neighborhood for dining and libations, and all of DT Vancouver is readily available by walking. And, the hotel is located only 2 blocks from the Skytrain station for the airport connection. The rooms are smartly decorated and well-appointed. The bathroom was large and robes were provided. The only possible downside was the parking fee - high by Seattle standards, but relatively reasonable by VCVR standards. We would book again. Nice lodgings, indeed.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade to a view room; they might accommodate you. In any event, the upper floors are to...

We got a great deal at hotwire for this hotel for several nights of stay. However, after our purchase, we noticed that the Coal Coast hotel already gave its own deal if you stayed for several nights which you could book directly through their website. We did not realize until after booking with hotwire that there was only valet parking at about $35 per day. The location is excellent, within walking distance to many attractions. The room was excellent -- everything clean and in great condition. The only thing I did not like were the designer cushions that lay on each bed/chair. I wondered how they could be kept clean and they seemed worn out a bit. Didn't think there was any need for them. They should have provided extra pillows instead if they wanted more comfort for sitting. The maid service was excellent. We used the gym and hotel pool and they were very nice as well. The room did not have a fridge or microwave had and little counter space for a family to eat something in the room if necessary. It was not very spacious but the bathroom was definitely adequate in size. (Maybe it was the room we got.) However, the view from the room was beautiful. We used the business center which was always quiet and had a larger feel than other hotel business centers. The hotel had bathroom facilities in the lower floor accessible by escalator from the lobby so you could freshen up quickly if you were at a lower floor and didn't want to go all the way back to the room.

We made a last-minute reservation at this hotel through Hotel Tonight, and we really were lucky! The rate was very reasonable, but I understand that they do not have rooms available on that app very often. The staff was so helpful - they printed out directions to a number of restaurants, brought them up to the room, and didn't accept an offered tip! The room was very clean, and the lobby was comfortable and inviting. Parking was a breeze, and when we requested extra time to leave our car in their garage, they didn't charge anything additional. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

We stayed here for 3 nights in June. We arrived a little early from our 10.5 hour flight but the receptionist still let us check in early, which I was very happy about. We were in the 14th floor, we sadly couldn't see the water from our room but could see the mountains which was nice. Our room was spacious and very clean. The beds were very comfy and we slept very well. The location is really good. You can walk to most places including Canada Place, Stanley Park and the Waterfront Station. Overall couldn't fault anything really.

I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Overall a great experience! The staff was great, room was comfortable (especially the beds!) and clean, and all in a great location. Close to the waterfront & Canada Place (where many of the tours started) as well as a quick walk to dining options. Would stay here again for sure!

Room Tip: As for an upper floor corner room. There are windows on 2 sides and it is a great view of downtown V...

We stayed here for the recent Kiwanis convention. From the first interaction with staff upon check-in, to the last when we retrieved our luggage from temporary holding, they were unfailingly polite and helpful. Its proximity to the convention centre (5-minute walk) was a godsend. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable, and the view was great!

Room Tip: Ask for room #14 on any floor 3 or higher for a nice view of the harbour. Otherwise, you're faci...
