This is an updated review. A few weeks ago I ate here and gave the food a 5/5 (as always) but moaned about the service, being rushed to the point that meal arrived within 5 minutes of ordering. I went back last week, to see if my comment would be taken to heart, and my experience was perfect. After my initial beer, bread, and pate, I chatted with the chef in the open kitchen and after about 15 minutes, she asked if I was ready for my steak to be put on. I said, "sure." And it was delicious. Steak Onglet with wild mushroom sauce. Done perfectly, as were the frites. I even had dessert, the creme brulet, which was carmelized perfectly on top and excellent underneath. I will continue to frequent the Brasserie, as it's one of the best of its type in Vancouver.
