This hotel is conveniently located in the center of Vancouver. It's a walking distance away from Robson street, Canada Place, the Steam clock and other city's major attractions. Besides its great location, it also has a good price for Downtown Vancouver.
Unfortunately, what's mentioned above seems to be the only two advantages of this hotel as the hotel itself wasn't up to our expectations.
We had a room with shared bathroom. The restroom was quite clean, but the showers didn't seem to have been cleaned that same day. The showers were quite tiny and you wouldn't want to touch anything there with your skin.
The hotel was decorated in a ship style displaying different pictures of ships along the walls. Our room was extremely tiny and had very little to no furniture except for the bed. The room we got was on the third floor. The problem with that was that the building in front of the room was lower and its dark grey roof was reflecting the sun heat straight into our room all day long (as well as all other rooms located on the third floor). As the room didn't have AC, it was as hot as hell anytime. We kept the sun curtains down, and it didn't help in any way. We slept with our windows open at night, but the only thing it changed was only amplify the birds noise. There was no way to escape from this incredible heat no matter what we did.
Moreover, the front desk was closed most of the time. So if you need to talk with them you must be lucky to find someone. It said "I'll be back in 10 minutes" most of the time except for the evenings when it was closed till the day after.
Also, there were some suspicious people next to our room who didn't quite look like tourists. We just didn't get who these people were and what they were doing there, so it didn't make us feel any safer in this hotel.
Finally, there was no elevator, so if you have large and heavy luggage you'll have to drag it upstairs in that extremely narrow stairway.
The good this about the hotel was the district - a lot of cheap restaurants, pizzas, and other budget food options.
In short, if you are on a very tight budget and you are visiting the city of Vancouver, this hotel could be a possible solution. However, after this experience I will personally consider choosing a different place for my next visit.
