“Season's is Sadly Dissatisfying Fare!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

Season's is located in Queen Elizabeth Park and boasts one of Vancouver City's most spectacular views! This restaurant fails to deliver on both the service and menu. I have been to both Sequoia Restaurants, including the Teahouse in Stanley Park.

The overall service in this place is incredibly slow! I had to constantly remind the server to refill our water, then we waited a good while for our beverages, starters, and entrées. Wine should not be an issue to expedite to your customers.

It wasn't till I complained that our wine finally materialized. The food delivery was another matter altogether, and it took forever, which was problematic considering the place wasn't very busy.

Our original server disappeared! I had to flag down another server to find out what happened to our meals. Ordered the dungeness crab cake starter and grilled scallops for main course. Was unimpressed with both dishes considering the wait time! Scallops were tasteless and rubbery and I have dined on more flavourful crab cakes at dinner parties!

I tried both these restaurants during brunch and dinner hours, the service is consistently poor. Customers should not have to wait for over an hour for meal service. The restaurant's standards have declined over the years and the menu is not up to par considering their high end prices! Season's does not live up to the Sequoia name or quality of service!

Management did not even offer us a drink or dessert on the house, considering the service was atrociously unacceptable. Not sure why? Maybe they did not value our patronage!

I would not recommend Season's in the Park or Teahouse in Stanley Park. There are too many other excellent restaurant choices in Vancouver to dine at! Sadly these restaurants have lost my business!

“Great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

When you go there try their mushroom- crab thing from the appetizer menu. It's way delicious.
Their service is really good and the money you pay for the food completely makes sense

Thanks for your online feedback. Your appetizer was called the "Seasons Mushrooms", and they are indeed, wonderfully delicious! Along with the glorious location, incredible view and professional service...Seasons in the Park Restaurant does, exactly, as in your words..."make sense"!

“What a View!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

We were headed for the Bloedel Conservatory and discovered this restaurant. They take reservations and were booked full but were able to seat us in the patio adjacent to an outdoor gas fireplace. Evidently this is the highest point in Vancouver. We had the perfect unblocked view of downtown Vancouver, waterways, north Vancouver. Really quite beautiful. Wife had the Salmon burger and immediately remarked how flavorful it was. I had French Toast with sausages. Not too much, not too little. Very good. Well dressed and attentive servers. Average price around $13. It was about noon on Sunday when we got there. The parking lot in front of the restaurant is $5.

“Fantastic fare, excellent value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

Our group of four dined at Season’s in the Park the other night and gave it a solid thumbs-up. It was during Dine Out Vancouver; three of us went with the $28 promo menu and the one ordered from their regular menu. Season’s went one step further and offered discounts on a selection of wines as part of DOV; the first time I encountered this …usually its short-pour pairings at a premium.

The Beef Carpaccio, Yukon Gold Potato Soup: Braised Beef Short Ribs, Tomato Basil Linguine; Hazelnut Chocolate Torte and Vanilla Gelato from the dine-out menu were all very well done. Everything arrived at the appropriate temperature and the portion sizes allowed one to enjoy all three courses without feeling stuffed. Excellent, flavourful fare and amazing value.

The fourth diner opted for the Market Greens and Arctic Char from their regular menu; both a hit. The portions, generous; food and wine prices are quite reasonable. Service was friendly and attentive; at no time did we feel rushed.

We've rediscovered a long forgotten, new favourite in Seasons in the Park. I would describe the cuisine as causal west coast meets bistro with some fusion thrown in to reflect the multicultural makeup of Vancouver. The casual, unassuming décor offers an interesting counterpoint to the panoramic view of Vancouver's skyline and local mountains to the north. Views are amazing day or night. In this setting you would expect fine dining with a premium for the view; not a neighbourhood gem.
