Came for lunch with my husband today and had another wonderful lunch. The service did start off a bit slow because there was only one server working. Demir, however, was quick to remedy that and was very courteous and attentive during the rest of our lunch.
Our problem here is we always forget how large the portions are and we're stuffed halfway through. We were offered complimentary brushchetta which was simple but delicious. I had the Minetrone soup and hubby had the Stracciatella. Both were simple yet fresh and quite on the large side - I didn't finish mine but it wasn't for not trying. Then came the bread - the most delicious bread I've eaten anywhere - a cross between pizza dough and naan bread accompanied by a soft garlic butter.
My husband had the AAA beef burger with fries - he said it was in his top two burgers he's eaten anywhere. I had the Gnocchi di Bella Senova - light, fluffy puffs of gnocchi with sun dried tomatoes, artichokes and peas in a light tomato cream sauce. The tomates were either packed in water or rinsed very well if they were oil packed because they didn't leave a pool of oil floating in the bottom of the dish. I ended up taking half home for dinner like last time. Best gnocchi I've had - even in Italy.
A good selection of wines by the glass with reasonable prices - the food is also very reasonably priced. I can't wait to go back - we felt like we were having a leisurely lunch in Italy without having to get on a plane. Nice work, Roger, on bringing back a great restaurant to the area.
