We arrived at Shelter on the suggestion of a local resident. It was late on a week-day evening and not in the high season, but Shelter was buzzing with people. When we tasted the food we knew why. We had the 'special' which was a perfectly cooked and very fresh piece of halibut sitting on a pea and mint risotto, with a little peashoot salad. These people know how to buy and cook fish (it came from the Trilogy Fish Co just across the road, and must have been caught not far away or long ago). A simple dish but very well done - the best fish dish I have had in a restaurant in Canada. I didn't expect that dessert could come up to the main dish but it did -- fabulous chocolate mousse. Excellent meal, reasonably priced, friendly service -- recommended.
