Description: Surveying the panoramic vistas from the westernmost point of Tofino’s idyllic Chesterman Beach, The Pointe Restaurant’s Refined West Coast cuisine and attentive service come gift-wrapped with 240 degree views of the Pacific Ocean, surrounding islands and wildlife. Much of the fresh seafood is fished from the very waters overlooked by The Pointe, and a longstanding focus on locally sourced, high quality ingredients is evident. Dinner is offered on a seasonal à la carte menu, but for the best of the best, try Chef de Cuisine Nick Nutting’s weekly tasting menu; Daily brunch is a true treat. Out of the ordinary desserts reflect an innovative Pastry program where most everything - from bread to butter to scrumptious chocolate croissants are housemade. An extensive wine list, recognized yearly by Wine Spectator magazine, showcases BC’s finest selections with a broad range of international bottlings. Over 100 Scotch Whiskies and a creative cocktail menu can be savoured in the comfortable On the Rocks Lounge. A true taste of Rustic Elegance On Nature’s Edge - and the West Coast’s best views - are on the menu at The Pointe Restaurant and On the Rocks Lounge.

“Fine dining at it's best”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

Great location, great service, great food. Dinner for 4. Appetizers all ranked top notch. Fresh bread and butter made in house. Fresh ingredients artfully put together. The only reason I gave this a 4 instead of 5, is that the Smoked Halibut main course had too much going on in the dish, and flavors were competing with each other instead of complimenting, but this is only my personal opinion. We enjoy fine dining, and the Pointe fills the bill. Yes it's expensive, but when you factor in the remote location, the excellent service and ammenities, it's not out of order.

“Fantastic dining experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

I have eaten at the point a few times and I must say that I have never been disappointed. The view here is next to none, the service staff goes to great length to ensure you have the best possible experience and the food is amazing. The Pointe is one dining experience that I think everyone should try at least once.

“Pointe Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

Do you like innovative dishes in great surroundings with good service? If so then this restaurant is a MUST, providing that you have a deep pocket. We enjoyed dinner on a Sunday evening, having booked a couple of days in advance. Understandably most people would wish to have a table by the window, but these seem to be reserved for hotel guests. However, the dining room is spacious enough so that there is a good view of the ocean from all tables. Sunsets etc..yes that is most peoples wish but outside of the control of the hotel!
The service is discrete, yet attentive, polite and impeccable. It is good to see the staff engaging their customers in conversation, especially with explanation of the various dishes. This is paramount when it comes to the choice of dessert....there being both a classic and a modern menu from which to choose. Don't be put off by some of the 'odd' pairings. My wife, like me, chose one which she hated at first taste. She was offered a second choice instantly.....she declined and no charge was made, without any intervention by me, and a complimentary coffee and petit fours were made available for her instantly so that she did not have the lingering taste of dessert for the rest of the evening. There was a choice of a limited table d'hote menu or a la carte....we chose the latter. Wines are expensive, but the choice and range is impressive. The bar is quite happy to allow a tasting of wines supplied by the glass, as well as advice from the resident sommelier.
Pricewise it is no more expensive than any other similar establishment on the Pacific Rim. Altogether a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable evening. Thank you Pointe!

“Wow at The Pointe!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

I don't normally review restaurants when I travel however really felt The Pointe restaurant needed the appropriate credit. We've eaten at all the major restaurants in Tofino and Ucluelet (Norwoods, Black Rock, Shelter, Long Beach, etc...) and were definitely pleasantly surprised by our meal and the general atmosphere. The hosts were great, seating us in the lounge while we waited for our table where I was able to get a glass of wine from the best wine list (and biggest) I've ever seen. One thing that struck me is that in a higher-end location like this me and my wife being younger were not given any snooty attitude at all which we sometimes get (the "are you sure you can afford a 30-dollar glass of wine" look). Prices were in line with the other competing restaurants in the area but the big differentiator for us was the portion sizes...wow! Our entree plates were huge and neither of us were able to finish our main course! Great time; are planning to stay at Wick Inn next time we are out and get a couple more meals in! My only complaint was it did seem like there was some pretty heavy markup on the "by the bottle" selections, but I would expect this is par for the course.

“Outstanding service! Outstanding meal!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

Choosing our dinner from their menu was the most difficult decision of our trip! The food was delicious and the experience was amazing. Travelling to Tofino to stay at the Wickininnish Inn was an adventure. Eating at there restaurant was priceless!
