I headed to Bella Pacifica this month with some serious trepidation after reading several VERY nasty reviews on Trip Advisor, however what I found was a pleasant, highly adequate campground in an idealic setting.
We (my husband, two boys (8 & 3) and my parents arrived on a Tuesday afternoon in glorious weather. We had one camp site reserved in the Forest loop which was more than large enough for our kitchen tent, my parents two man tent, our tent trailer and two vehicles. Admittedly, the sites are fairly close together but most sites in either the Forest Loop or the Tin-Wis loop offer reasonable privacy. I would however, steer clear of the Oceanside, Seaview and Beachfront sites if you cherish a quite nook in the. These sites offer a rather spectacular setting - overlooking Mackenzie beach but offer little in the way of privacy or space. On less than perfect weather days these sites can also be lashed by heavy winds where as the sites further back are more sheltered from the wind. One exception to this would be the sites off the far north end of the Ocean side loop (Sites 94-109). They are tucked away down a dead end road and get little if any traffic.
Bella Pacifica definitely is a large, busy campsite so if its seclusion you seek I would head elsewhere but if you are looking for a fun, easy campground situated on a fabulous beach then this is your spot. We spent day after day with the kids on the beach and never got bored. Bring bocce ball, kites, bikes, sand toys, boogie and skim boards - there's ample space for everyone to play.
