Not sure if the "family friendly" is new over the last few years or not as we thought it was family friendly before as well. There was no quiet time last time we went. No gate to stop people from coming in late at night or the wee hours of the morning! We had people come in at 11pm on one side of us, opening and closing car doors to get camp stuff out and set up and then 3 hours later the other side of us we had the pot smokers who were setting up and chopping wood at that hour, have never been back! Management did nothing the next day, which is when we were able to get a hold of them and complain. Oh and lots of drunk young people walking through the camp going down to the beach access. Travelled in Sept 2009.

Room Tip: Campground, most sites pretty nice

Beautiful beachfront camping and awesome service. Definatly recommend. We had a beachfront site and it was great. The only small drawback was the sites are small....but you have the whole beach right there. Bathrooms are well kept.

We just got back from our trip to
Tofino ( july 18th-22nd)and I just wanted to say we really had a great time:) we booked over 3 months ago and I had sent many emails just asking questions about anything and everything and I always got a friendly reply:) the bathroom floors were muddy but cleaned often and the toilets were clean!! Cleaner bathrooms than the ferry lol! The sites are tiny!! No joke but we made ours work just fine! Plus who cares about the site when the ocean is right there!! Anyway I would come back and stay here again:)

Well we camped at Bella Pacifica for 5 nights now. We have only seen one member of the staff trying to clean the place up. He would often drive by in a security truck. All you could smell was pot. Don't get me wrong the beach was absolutely beautiful! But there are signs saying "no fires down at the beach". Yet people still have them, and there are big chunks of charcoal and some spots with glass. The beach is huge! And very nice. It could use some work. But if I could rate just the beach out of 5 it would be a 4. The camp sites are very small. Some come with a electrical and water post, which is a plus. The bathrooms don't have NEVER have soap and often don't have toilet paper. There is often pee or water splashed all over the toilet seats. I would deffenitly recommend this to people who would mostly spend their time down at the beach! But in that case it was an okay visit.

Dear Camper5711, Thank you for taking the time to review our property. Your feedback is appreciated. We are looking into soap dispenser options for the upcoming season. Beach fires can become a nuisance at times during all times of the year we maintain a close relationship with the local RCMP and Bylaw officers to help with this issue. We hope you consider us for your future visits to the Tofino Area.

Happy Camping

We took our large tent trailer and found that we had a great site with plenty of room to nest for our 5 night stay. We were originally trying to get a beachfront site, but we were swayed not to by staff when we booked as they are only big enough for a tent. Glad we took their advice. For 47$/night, we had 30 amp hookup, sewer, and water. These utilities were fantastic as we are used to BC provincial sites which usually offer none of these for 35+$ / night. I believe it is worth the extra $$ to not hear generators running in the background! The washrooms were clean ( a little bit of water on the floor, but hey....you're camping) , always had TP, but no hand soap or paper towel which is not a big deal as one could wash their hands at their site. Laundry facilities were 2$ for washer and 3$ for dryer. The beach was fantastic with plenty of room and not crowded by any means. Most of the 2nd tier sites for RV's did not offer much privacy at all (if any) between them, but ours did. Staff were good. A bit of a wait at administration to check in, buy ice, firewood ($6/ bundle for about 6 split pieces) but we weren't in a hurry so no biggie. The picnic table and fire pit were also able to be moved to the desired location in our site. No grill on the top of the fire pit though if you plan on boiling water etc. All-in-all , we had a great time, OUR site, campground, and trip to Tofino was great!!! A great place to go for a hike is Schooner Cove Trail which takes you to the north end of Long Beach. Just go around the corner to the north and you're at Schooner Cove. The approx 1km hike is beautiful! The cost to use the Pacific Rim National Park for the day was about $20 a family or about $10 an adult. Tofino is a beautiful place to visit!

We spend two nights in Bella pacifica, the rv sites with full hook ups are a little bit narrow and no privacy. The site has an ocean view and that is a plus. The campground has several washrooms and showers but no soap to wash your hands after using the toilet and no paper towels to dry your hands. The showers gets dirty from the sand and the floor outside the shower stall gets dirty and wet which I find not easy to put on your clothes without getting your them wet and dirty. The campground have nice sites with privacy but with no hook ups. It is good for dry camping only for RV's. My main concern is the washrooms without liquid soap to wash your hand for sanitary and paper towels to dry your hands.

Dear Becster-300, I appreciate you taking the time to review Bella Pacifica Campground. We do have power only options that would be suitable for RV's that offer more seclusion and privacy. We will be looking into soap dispenser options in the washrooms for the 2013 season. Hope to see you again

Cheers,

Kirstyn

I made the mistake of reading some of the reviews on this site and freaking out days before my trip that this place was going to be filthy and miserable. But my experience there was great!

Our campsite was a bit on the small side, but our small car and 2-person tent fit comfortably in the space along with the picnic table and campfire pit that are provided. We were in one of the furthest spots from the beach, and it was still just a 2-minute walk to it.

Contrary to most of these reviews, the washrooms and showers were as clean as one *should* expect in a CAMPGROUND. Yes, there was some dirt and water on the floors, but it was raining out. If you're going to a campground expecting the facilities to be spotless, you should probably lower your expectations. In my view, they were pretty clean.

I took two showers on this trip, and both were warm. I did hear people in adjacent stalls saying theirs were lukewarm, but i guess i lucked out. The shower cost one dollar for a few minutes, and one shower was adequate for me to get clean. So the showers weren't pricey by any means.

So I guess if you're a person who isn't used to roughing it, the facilities would seem 'filthy' -- but as a person who's used to camping (even in places with no facilities), Bella Pacifica was great.

My only complaint was the firewood we purchased for $6 from the office... it was obviously wet because it wouldn't burn properly. This does seem to be a common complaint, so I'd suggest bringing your own.

Other than that, I was very happy with our stay there! And you can't beat the location, especially if you have a car. Mackenzie Beach is beautiful and not busy at all. We drove about 10 minutes to check out Chesterman Beach and Long Beach, and even ventured into Ucluelet which is about 40km away. Highly recommend exploring the Wild Spirit trail and lighthouse in Ucluelet... really cool twisted trees, and an easy walk to the lighthouse situated on beautiful rock cliffs.

Not much to see in the town of Tofino proper... but if you like beer, head to the Tofino Brewing Company and get a growler filled with their Blonde ale... it was so good! :) Ask the locals for directions though, it's kind of hard to find.

Enjoy your trip!
