“Beautiful views.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013 via mobile

This hotel has amazing views of the ocean. It is expensive but I enjoyed the stay. The restaurant at this hotel is a perfect place to watch the winter storms. There are two main buildings. Choose the hotel building adjacent to the restaurant as this is closer to the water and views are fantastic. The other building is slightly farther from the waters edge. I will definitely choose to stay here again.

Very few hotels have great service + food, plus a beautiful hotel + surroundings. The Wick has it all. We stayed in the Point building on the 3rd floor, which had a gorgeous view. Woke up each morning, made coffee and baileys, and huddled on our balcony watching the surf under the Hudson's Bay blankets provided by the hotel. The Point restaurant was amazing, we had the four course tasting menu. The little cafe in the Beach building also has great service and food, we had a yummy omlette there 2 mornings before going on a long walk. Had one of the best spa experiences I ever had (excellent massage therapist, and the steam room is awesome). We're already booked to go back in May, can't wait!

Room Tip: South Point rooms on the 3rd floor have amazing views.

We booked the elopement package at the Wickanninish and were overall disappointed.

Pros: the room was beautiful and the service staff was amazing

Cons: I would caution anyone who is considering getting married...after they confirmed our reservation they called back a few days later to say they made an error and our dates would have to be changed. I asked if they would consider a small discount to account for the change fees we would incur and I was berated on the phone. They also didn't call to tell us the elopement coordinator was sick while we waited for over an hour for our meeting to choose our ceremony location. Also the boutonnière we ordered was incorrect. Lastly when we went for dinner at the Point Restaurant were told the 4 course special was included in the package. It wasn't really what we wanted (and I couldn't eat many parts of it as I was pregnant and it had raw fish courses). When we went to check out we were charged over $200 for the meal...

Bottom line, no one took responsibility for the errors and no one seemed to care about rectifying the. I would go to Long Beach Lodge....

Room Tip: If you are going for storm season, book a room in the Point building.

Dear Kelly154945,
We appreciate you providing us with feedback on your recent stay and wedding at our Inn by way of a Trip Advisor Review.
While we are delighted you enjoyed your guest room and the service provided by our team, we were most disappointed to read that your wedding experience through our Elopement Package was not to your satisfaction. Please accept our most sincere apology as we obviously fell short in providing you with a memorable and magical experience on your special day. We can certainly understand your disappointment.
We also apologize for the misunderstanding with respect to your dinner in The Pointe Restaurant being included in our Elopement Package and your disappointment with our 4 Course Tasting Menu. As it is our standard to replace any dish not to our guest’s liking, we certainly wish we could have addressed your concerns at the time as opposed to during your checkout process. It is our understanding that due to the misunderstanding, your dinner bill was reduced by 50% at checkout.
As feedback from our guests provides us with the opportunity to continually improve the product and service we offer, we would appreciate the opportunity to understand and learn from your experience. Accordingly, a member of our Senior Management Team will be in contact with you directly to personally discuss your concerns with you.
Again, we are very sorry that we did not meet your expectations and truly hope you will allow us the opportunity to learn from your experience.

We booked a specific room almost a year in advance. We had lots of time to anticipate what this place would be like and it exceeded all our expectations. We stayed 5 nights Jan 27-Feb 1. We had never been to this part of Canada and were hoping that we would see some wild winter storms. We did not but even so room 309 did not disappoint us. We had eagles flying right by our windows and perching close by in the trees. The room had huge windows with different views of the ocean, the fireplace was so cozy and the bed was the best. Heated floor tiles and the tub with the fantastic view were just the icing on the cake. We found that we really didn't want to leave during the day and only left for short periods of time...to dine. We ate a lunch and dinner at the Pointe and those meals were fantastic. We also had awesome meals at The Shelter, Schooner and Long Beach Resort. What a great way to start our retirement!

Room Tip: Highly recommend 309 for the views if nothing else!

I recently took my husband to the Wickaninnish Inn for his 65th birthday. I must say, that this was the most enjoyable stay I've had anywhere. From the friendly and extremely helpful staff, the luxurious room, the absolutely breathtaking view of the ocean, to the amazingly delicious dinner and dining environment, we were extremely impressed with our experience and will definitely go back.

The Wickaniinnish is an incredible place to stay.....Luxury at its finest. They have covered all the details, from binoculars in each room to raincoats in each closet.
They are the epitome of Canadian beauty and sustainability. I love that their compost bins are called "TEMPLE OF ORGANIC TRANSITION". I hope I have the opportunity to stay there again.

We stayed two days Jan 29/30, 2013 at this resort, after staying 3 nights prior at another resort. It was so romantic, large rooms, very pet friendly, great beach. THe rooms and staff were incredible. Very spacious filled with all items you would need to take your dog for a walk on the beach during storm season. They have stations outside to wash your pet off with dry towels so you don't track all the sand in the hallwa, as well as rain gear for us. Our dog was so tired after the first day there of hiking that she just layed by the fire in our room while we went for dinner to the dinning room and never moved until we came back. Loved the iidea of rain gear in our room to go out in the storm and walk on the beach. Had dinner at the Pointe Restaurant with incredible views overlooking the ocean the first night. It was good but I have to say to much presentation as opposed to amount of food. We also had lunch there the next day but chose to leave the resort on the second night dinner, which was sad as we were tired but wanted a nice meal for our last evening there. I hate to say but we went back to the Long Beach Resort for our 4th dinner.
Don't get me wrong, will definitely go back again and stay in the rooms, and next time make time for the beautiful spa! Moosepoop!
