“Comfy, Quiet, Casual, Canine friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

We had a small pet-friendly ground level studio for three nights - it was comfortable and adequate for 2 people, 2 small dogs. For a longer stay, get a larger suite! The bonus here is that the owners and staff go out of their way to make the stay warm, pleasant and memorable. Each day we were asked if we needed housekeeping or just towel & garbage changes. With a winter storm watching package we were treated to a bottle of wine, popcorn, hot choc, movies, etc.... given three straight days of rain, these were appreciated. (Also appreciated is the fireplace, dog towels & treats, and covered porch.) Friends had the pet-friendly studio above us.
The kitchen was tiny but fully equipped - we were able to entertain our friends for dinner and certainly made ourselves good breakfasts each morning. No restaurant on the property - but there is a little store at the office if you forget to bring something. (Try "Calm Waters" at the Tin Wis for dinner!)
Overall, the place is immaculate, the staff is friendly and helpful, views and beach access would be wonderful in dryer weather.

“Wonderful stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

Stayed 2 nights in the Light House suite. Nicely appointed. Bed was so comfortable even asked at the front desk where they bought it from as I would love one. The food that is available to buy at the front desk area was amazing, try for the smoked chowder. There was even a marshmallow roast one evening in a wonderful enclosed gazebo. Fully equipped kitchen to prepare your own meals if you wish to stay in. We were fortunate to secure this stay from a fund raiser and so glad we did. We will spread the word!

“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

An excellent stay at a fantastic resort. We went to the area to do Pacific ocean storm watching and we were not dissapointed! Our room had a wonderful view of the sea. Well stocked kitchen. Large and very comfortable bedroom. The beach walking/exploring was perfect. Staff very friendly and accomoodating. Had a fabulous time and will definately be back to see the incredible power of nature!

Room Tip: Request the second floor of the "Beachfront" section of the resort.

“Spacious and cozy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

Stayed in a beach house at Pacific Sands in Tofino with another couple and we were impressed with the size. It was designed in such a way that everyone had their privacy and we never had cabin fever. The kitchen was not as well equipped as was mentioned but you could get anything missing from the front desk. We were impressed with large pot to cook our fresh crabs that we bought from the local fisherman. That was great! Great trip! Beautiful ocean view. Would go again.

Room Tip: Smaller accommodations are available.

“From start to finish simply FANTASTIC!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

From the initial booking (reviewed on line and then booked directly from the resort via telephone) to check out, our stay at Pacific Sands Beach Resort could not have been better! We booked the Pacific Storm Watcher special package: a 1 bedroom beach front suite, complimentary bottle of wine, 2 specialty coffees from Bean on the Beach Espresso Bar (in their lobby and very tasty), packets of hot chocolate and popcorn, as well as tokens for DVD on site movie rentals. This was only the start! Upon arrival we found that our rental also included the use of heavy duty rain slickers (much needed in the torrential, yet wonderful, downpour that we walked in along the beach – remember this was a storm watch package so this was expected!) and use of spotlessly clean BBQ’s and fire pit in a cozy little enclosed gazebo building just off of the beach – a perfect place to warm up and relax after our delightful stormy beach walks! The view from our second floor suite was spectacular. When not out walking the beach we could sit on the couch, next to the glowing fireplace, and watch the surf crashing in. We chose an upper floor suite as I wanted to be able to go out onto the (very comfortable) deck and take panoramic photos. On a sunny day this would be a great place to sit and take in the beautiful west coast scenery. Just a note, if you choose a first floor room you will still have amazing views, just a bit more foliage in between you and the ocean and you will have the convenience of the walkout patio instead of a deck. There are no elevators, so if stairs are an issue, consider booking the first floor. The resort is comprised of accommodation sections, each a little different from the next to suit varied needs. Their website well describes them. I don’t think you could go wrong with a room or suite in any of them, as they are all located directly on the beach. Our preference is definitely the beach building or beach houses but I certainly wouldn’t turn down a stay in the other. Our room was immaculate and had a well-appointed kitchen with everything we needed to prepare the meals we had brought with us. There isn’t a restaurant on site but the resort offers a decent selection of reasonably priced frozen entrees and soups should you wish to pick up quick, pre made meal to heat up. There is a co-op grocery store in Tofino (minutes away) which looks to be newly renovated and has a fantastic selection of everything! If eating out is your preference there are quite a few little eating places to check out in Tofino, note that some are on seasonal hours during the winter. Located on Cox Bay, the private beach at this resort is phenomenal! It covers a great expanse of area and is great for strolling, running, sitting, sand play and is safe for unsupervised surfing. All this as you walk out of your room/suite and across a small strip of grass – doesn’t get better than that! The resort has a hiking path that leads to Pettanger Point – lookout area atop the jagged rocks. A must to take in and don’t forget your camera! Something to keep in mind when travelling to this area is that you may get rain, embrace it! A west coast rainfall can be a beautiful as the warmth of sunshine if you view it with the right attitude and wear the correct clothing! Without exception, every single staff member was professional and friendly, making us feel extremely welcome and comfortable. We will definitely be returning to this resort and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who is looking for place to stay in the Tofino/Long Beach area.
