“Newly renovated with great food & exceptional service! We were impressed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2012

Well its been well over 2 years since the Keg closed down for renovations and finally the wait is over! We recently visited for a night out on the town and the wait was worth it! The new renovations are amazing, the service was phenomenal and the food was great! The servings were very generous which was great considering the menu is quite pricey. When are meal arrived there were no less than 3 servers hovering over our table to make sure everything was to our liking. Try the ribs and the stuffed potatoes....and the escargot and the caesar salad and ...you get the picture. We'll definitely be back!!

“Awesome reno, even better food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2012 via mobile

We stopped off at the "new" keg for dinner this evening being in town and after finding out it had reopened.

The renovations were amazing. The place was filling up with guests quickly as we came just before 5 pm. The restaurant is open from 4 p.m. To 11 p.m. daily. Lots of free parking around the building and on the street. Central location, a couple of blocks away from Victoria Ave. and across the street from City hall and the ice rink.

The decor inside is very lovely. A nice ambiance with the lighting. You don't feel like you are sitting in a huge dining area as with some other Kegs. The bathrooms are super spotless.

Out server was very prompt and knowledgeable. She went over the current dungeness crab specials in detail and made good suggestions. She returned with drinks and appetizer shorty after ordering and once the appy was done, our food came out at once. Great organization.

We ordered bellinis which as always were delicious. For an app, we tried the spinach, Parmesan and crab dip which was delicious as well. We never venture far from our favorites for the mains and once again we were not disappointed. Large portions of peppercorn steak and sirloin Oscar came out right to order. We have never been disappointed with the way steaks are prepared at Keg restaurants and it is nice to know that when I order a medium rare steak it will come out warm throughout with a juicy deep red middle. Perfection!

No room for dessert but the billy miner pie (ice cream) is surely and as always to die for.

Will be back!

“Very good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2012

A lot of changes since our last stop there, lovely reno's, food was excellent & service very good. Price on the upper side but a nice night out. Was within walking distance to our hotel which was a bonus. Very noisy in bar area where we had to wait for our table to become available but a bit quieter in dining room. Not as open as it use to be which cuts the noise down a bit. We would definitely visit again.

“Not great - huge prices”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2012

I found the Keg super noisey in the lounge, maybe should have picked another area. The service was pretty good (they had just opened and had lots of staff) but still pretty mixed up. They brought our main course at the same time they brought the appies then took it away then forgot to bring it again. Where did it sit for that half hour?? Dinner for 5 cost 307.00. That included a few drinks but for that price I would like to say "wow" what a meal but I can't.
