“Awesome views, decent food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

I love that you can find a restaurant like this pretty much in the middle of nowhere up at the top of a mountain. Views were amazing; unfortunately at lunch time they weren't serving outside on the patio, probably too hot outside anyway. Burger was alright, didn't blow my mind, but the soup I had as a side was amazing. Service could have been better, but only because there was only one lady (presumably owner/cook's wife) doing absolutely everything and when some group of tourists, who didn't know how to use a credit card, held her up for 10 minutes to pay their bill everything stood at a standstill.

“elk steak!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2012

have just come back from a wonderful trip in canada, we went to the lost moose near the end of our trip and couldnt have finished on a nicer note, the reasturant had the most wonderful views of penticton you could wish for, when we looked at the menu my husband chose elk steak, the server told him it was best served rare, he doesnt really eat meat like that but gave it a try and it was out of the world, the whole meal was excellent, from the soup, the ribs and most of all the elk! we finished with irish coffee on the patio and enjoyed the views, my compliments to the owner who was busy cooking outside in the bbq hut, if you are in penticton you simply must go here. with best wishes from north wales.xxxx

“Great date night!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2012 via mobile

My boyfriend had been talking about this place and loving it so we finally ventured up, we were the only table on the patio which was nice to enjoy some wine and dinner. Food was okay, but our server was very attentive and great. The only downside was a table of tourists ventured outside and decided to sit right behind us (actually hitting my chair!) even though the entire patio was empty and continued talking so loud we actually had to move to finish our wine and dessert if we wanted to hear each other. Otherwise everything was perfect, will definetly bring our friends back!

“Another good visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2012

Have been here many times over the years and have always been satisified. Had the bacon cheeseburger today with some Cannery Ale and both were excellant. My two companions were also happy with their choices. Our server was pleasant, welcoming and friendly and remembers us from previous visits. The setting is magnificent with a full view of Penticton and the lake and the valley below. Well worth the drive.

“Family Run BBQ Restaurant with a great view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2012

My husband and I found this place because of a bike ride a friend of ours told us was amazing. We rode our bikes way up (9km) Carmi till it ended at this funky spot. The restaurant is opens at 11:30 (we were very dissapointed we could not get a coffee after such a ride), and is open for lunch and dinner. So we made a reservation for that evening with the family.
The views are staggering, the building has been built out of reclaimed wood from a fire and is surrounded by glass doors. There is a fabulous viewing deck where you can also eat if the winds allow. This is a BBQ restaurant and not the best choice for a vedgetarian, but they had an awesome veggie burger and a couple of salads. We were 8 for dinner with our adult kids and our 3 year old granddaughter. They had a kids menu so that was nice for our group. Kids had steak, halibit, burgers and said it was well prepared and delicious. Most of us had the soup of the day - homemade tomato gin - delicous. Hot buns came out of the oven (a little late, but non the less tasty). The service is an attempt, but clearly the our server of the evening did not have much experience. We were happy to pour our own wine, remind him when we required another bottle and hand him our plates when he didn't notice we were done.
We were all there for the view and the experience, not white glove service. All in all well worth the trip up the hill. the total bill for 8 & the toddler was $370 including 3 bottles of wine and 3 desserts split between us. They were kind enough to give us some of their homemade fresh donuts on the house!
