“Seeing It All”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2014

This is a favorite location of mine in Penticton. It is a small park setting just a few minutes out on the Naramata Rd. The area and walkway are well maintained, with nice viewing benches, that take you up a steep but easy to do path to the top of the mountain just above the large white painted rocks that make up the "PENTICTON" sign on the side of the mountain which can be seen from across Okanagan Lake on Hwy 97 and from various points in the city. The top is a large flat rock area on which you can stand and sit for magnificent views in all directions of Okanagan Lake, Penticton, wineries and farmlands and mountains and the magnificent sky. There is also a cable fence to keep people away from the edge. Tourists and residents alike should not miss this great location. It also has equinox markers which are observed with any who wish to at sunset on the seasonal changes. Be aware of the weather as it can be magnified at the top, especially the wind and temperature.

“Easy climb, spectacular view!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2014

Just a short drive out of Penticton this gorgeous spot is definitely worth a visit.
It's unfortunate that there isn't any public transportation to this spot but if you're in good shape you can get dropped at the corner of Upper Bench Rd & McMillan (on the way to Naramata). . .walk about a concession rd over & reach the entrance. You'd want to do this on an overcast day however & take water as there's not much shade.
However you get there ~ you won't be sorry you did! :D

“Beautiful!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2014

Munson Mountain offers stunning 360 views of Penticton. One side overlooks Okanagan Lake, turn around and it's all wine country as far as the eye can see. I could sit up there all day. The Penticton sign that is visible from the beach is located on this mountain. We went early in the morning, just after 7 as the gates do not open until 7. And it was already a little warm. So be mindful of the temperature.

“Amazing, must-see views!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2014

I stopped in at this viewpoint because of the Tripadvisor reviews I read. It was easy to find, right on the road to Naramata and clearly signposted just after Poplar Grove winery. We parked the car and headed up the gravel path, then took a right straight up to the highest point (about a minute's climb). The reviews were really great in all directions, especially looking across the lake. This is where the pictures of Penticton in all the guidebooks are taken from, and it really is beautiful.

It was fun being right above the Penticton sign and I walked down along the small trail that ran right below the sign to get some photos of it. There were a number of benches there too for people to sit down at and enjoy the view. We had a dog with us and it was very pet friendly - wouldn't let dogs off the leash though just in case they get too close to the edge!

“A View from the Top!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2014

Munson Mountain is an excellent place to take in the spectacular 360 degree views of Penticton.

It is located up Vancouver Hill on the East side of Penticton on the way to Naramata. This is where the very large PENTICTON sign is located, and at the base there is a small, paved parking lot.

From the parking lot, there are several trails to choose from. Mountain bikers may like to try their skills and daring on the dirt trails that snake up several sides, or for those that like to take it easy, you can just stroll along the paved, walkway towards the gazebo. Once you arrive to the gazebo, you can take in the view of Skaha Lake in the distance, straight ahead and Okanagan Lake to the right.

For those wanting a bit more of a hike, there is a main gravel trail that leads to the very top - above the PENTICTON sign. This last bit is definitely well-worth the effort and you’ll be rewarded with the most fabulous “view from the top” – a breath-taking panorama of water, forest, vineyard, & mountain vistas, showcasing the best Penticton has to offer!
