“Good Service and Hospitality still exists at this stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

Recently spent 3 terrific days at Penticton and stayed at Lakeside Villa. This motel provides excellent value for the money. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, but the the best part is the good old fashioned service you will receive from Keith and Kim the hosts. The daily complimentary breakfast, the information provided, offer to drive us to a restaurant so we could have a glass of wine and the complimentary wine tours were all terrific. The only negative of Lakeside Villa is the location close to a busy highway. We asked for a quiet room for light sleepers and had no serious issues with the noise. Highly recommend this location for a good stay at a fair price.

Room Tip: Room 25 is one of the quiet ones with a North window away from the highway.

Thank you for your review, it means a lot to us. Room 25 with a kitchenette, and room 26 which is a queen sleeper unit are the two rooms furthest from the road and great if you're a light sleeper. While traffic is sometimes heavy during the day, at night it is very light. We try to provide rooms based on each guests needs. If you book through our own motel website, you can actually get options as to the type of room that best suits your needs, whether a one or two bed sleeper, a one bedroom with kitchenette, or studio with kitchenette, we cover a variety of needs. On our website, you'll also get the best pricing and availability by going through our own booking system. As for the transportation to a restaurant, and wine tour. It lets you, our guest, enjoy your stay while we provide the designated driver. We've driven people to and from weddings, events, and attractions, all so our guests can have a good time. We hope to see you again. Oh, book early. We've already started getting bookings for next spring and summer.

There is little to fault with this facility. It is an older motel that has been carefully updated and is immaculately maintained - spotless in fact which says that the owners care. We found the owners/hosts to be very friendly and quite helpful even offering a daily wine tour for guests for those interested in visiting some of the wineries in and around Penticton. In the summer months a continental breakfast is available between 08:00 and 10:00 which proved adequate for our needs. Our room was large with a separate sitting area, large bedroom, small dining area complete with a fridge and stove - a self-contained unit.

The Lakeside Villa is located on the extreme southwest limits of Penticton on Highway 97 and we were concerned about traffic noise which turned out not to be a problems. It is a bit distant from many of the area restaurants located further in to the city but being a relatively small city, distances aren't that great. The big upside is its location across the highway from Skaha Lake. A few metres walk to the underpass east of the motel, cross under Highway 97 and you are on the beach. We've always found Skaha Lake a great deal warmer and less crowded that Okanagan Lake on the north side of Penticton. For those looking for luxury and "high end" living, the Lakeside isn't for you but for those who are looking for clean comfortable accommodations at a very reasonable price, it is hard to beat this facility anywhere in or around Penticton. Friendly hosts and the nearby amenities like Skaha Lake only add to the overall value. In our view definitely not high end luxury but definitely very good value all around!

All we can say is thank you. You can't judge a motel by it's exterior, at least not in our case as you pointed out. Rob takes great pride in the quality and cleanliness of his rooms and property. While we are south of the downtown area, the fun van is available to drop guests at a restaurant, bar, event and more. You can get to anywhere in Penticton in ten minutes. During the summer there are now 2 restaurants next door and on Skaha beach. With the new beach rental shop, icecream shop, variety store, and farm market next door as well, there is little need to go far.
Again we say thank you for the awesome review, and look forward to seeing you again.

The beds were comfortable and the location perfect! We appreciated the shuttle to the start of the channel as well as the use of tubes on the lake. It felt luxurious to lounge on the water while my little boy played in the sand. Another big plus? Ice cream bars for sale in the office. Sure the ice cream at the shop down the street is better but when they close early and you've promised a young one some ice cream, it's a lifesaver. Yes there is highway noise, but the walk to the beach makes up for it.
The only thing that woudl make it better is microwave in the room.

We're glad your weekend was a good one. We must agree, there is nothing like the ice-cream at second scoop. We don't put all our rooms on the big booking site so when you come back, be sure to book through our website, or call the office direct for the best pricing and availability,
It's a short walk to the beach as you point out, and it's safe with the pedestrian underpass, once you reach the beach it's nice to have a cafe, beach rental shop and washrooms right there.
Our FUN van makes tubing and free wine transportation so easy for our guests, and saves money too, then you can spend it on a nice dinner or souvenirs, or whatever you want. Being on holiday shouldn't mean having to constantly spend your hard earned money.
We look forward to seeing you again.

We're glad you had a great stay. It's the little things, like the free tubes to borrow, the free transportation, and our desire to help you have a great time, that set us apart.
Remember the next time you book, do it through our website, or call the office toll free to get the best rates and availability. We don't post all our rooms on third party booking sites.
We look forward to seeing you next year.

Room was nice and at a reasonable cost. We found the west side nicer for late afternoon as the sun is not coming in the window. Our host looked after all our needs and went out of her way to please us. Will go back next year

My husband & I booked this motel for a weekend getaway for 2 nights - we wished we could have stayed longer! Although the outside looks like any old motel, the inside is completely renovated & spotless. The beds are comfortable and the kitchenette felt like a luxury. The staff was unbelievably nice & so accommodating - they took us on a wine tour and then dropped us off at the start of the channel with floaties (which they provided at no cost!). They were so understanding when my husband accidently dropped the keys in the channel, haha. They even offered to take us downtown for dinner. I've never experienced such service! When we thought it couldn't get any better, they even have a continental breakfast - what else can you ask for. We will definately come back and stay longer! I would recommend this motel to anyone wanting to visit the Okanagan.

What can we say, we do the best we can, and a key can be re-cut. Dianne and Kim work hard every day to keep the units clean, and I know they will appreciate your noticing.

We stayed in Lakeside Villa Motel for two night in July. This is probably the best motel (rooms actually do not have a motel feeling to it) we have stayed in British Columbia and we travel a good bit. We stayed in one bedroom suite and loved it. Rooms and bathroom are spotless, kitchen is very well stocked. The rooms are not very big, but absolutely sufficient size. As to hospitality and service, it is as good as it gets. Kim and Keith should teach other managers and owners; any request we had (and we travel with three kids, so we usually have a few) was fulfilled very quickly, efficiently and with a smile. They even gave us tubes and Keith dropped us to the tubing station which saved us a few bucks on the rent. Generally, accommodation in Penticton is not cheap including this motel, but they offer some of the best rates. Location is great, beach across the road and we prefer Skaha lake to Okanagan lake. Continental breakfast was what you expect from continental breakfast - coffee, muffins, toasts, fruits, coffee, etc. BBQ facilities in the backyard, we did not use those, but it is something nice to have. Water smells a bit because it comes from the well, at first children mentioned it, but got used to it very quickly. The window in the living room does not open and air conditioning can be a bit noisy, but it did not bother us and I am just being fussy. Generally, it is a great place with great people, we are going to Penticton again in August and did not have to think where to stay, it is an obvious choice. Everybody in the family loved it and thank you very much for our great stay.

thank you for your kind words. Rob has worked hard to make the the rooms feel like home. Little things like the crown moulding and full size appliances take away the motel room feel. I don't know that Kim and Keith could teach anyone how to run a motel, it's just the way they are, and that is something you can't teach. We enjoy taking our guests to the wineries, and the channel is a must do in Penticton.
