“Great snow, fun to go!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

Alex mountain takes you up into the hills and back in time! It is truly a mountain for skiers! Not a fancy scene, but if you want good snow and good runs, get up to these slopes! Good place to take the family. We enjoyed an extra perk.... Fred, one of the mountain hosts took us for a great tour of runs that we probably wouldn't have found on our own! A super winter breakaway!

“a little known secret!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

We've skied all over BC and AB, but until now had somehow managed to miss Apex Mtn. On a 'bluebird' day we found huge terrain off of a single high speed quad lift - virtually free of line-ups. A T-bar was used for racers and a triple for intermediates, where no line-ups ever seemed to form either. We were treated to endless steeps, glades, bumps, and fluffy snow and had more vertical in half a day than we'd had in 3 whole days @ Whistler!! Sunshine on "the Wild Side" created some nasty crust on a following day in cloud cover, but 10 cm of 'freshie' on the rest of the mountain stayed dry and fluffy in the relative shade all day - and for days! The "GunBarrel Saloon" at the village was a great apres ski stop, and the nearby cafe was excellent for lunch and capuccinos. This is a hill that would satisfy both family and freeskiers(boarders) alike and we saw both - all smiles!

“Skiing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

Fantastic snow, powder and bumps. Shortish runs, but pretty deserted, so we had whole runs to ourselves. No queueing for lifts. National races going on, so some runs closed while we were there, but did not matter. Smallish resort, enought o keep you busy for 2-3 days.

“Hidden gem weekdays”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

Ive been here 40-50 times, this hill is literally empty weekdays. You will have the whole hill to yourself! There are some really good runs as well, love the glades on skiers left of the quad. The lodge is well located for grub and beer. The new south slope glades are ok but the sun burns the snow away.
One negative, the hill is clogged with ski racers and mogul riders, kills my mojo!!

“What an Amazing Hill!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

Apparently Apex is a "small" mountain, but I am from the east in Toronto, so Apex was definitely not small. The town is not much to write home about.........sorry pentictoners, but the hill and the base restuarant/bar was great! The mountain had the most amazing views and great powder, and best of all you felt like you had your own mountain. Super quiet. I believe its "Mackenzie" run that was the best. Prices were pretty good considering we pay about the same out here for a hill that has man made snow and is super small. They even gave me a discount with my home mountain pass. The best part was we got there an hour after first lift and some of the runs were still freshly groomed. Always awesome to feel like im not in traffic on the hill.
