Stopped in Penticton one night and had booked at the Ramada with a good AAA price. Nice big room, second floor deck/balcony which was relaxing for a little glass of wine and a book. Turned out it was the Canadian "long weekend." After checking in, we went to the lake and saw the craziness of drunk/partying college (?) kids there. Were happy we had not taken a place on the lake!
Ramada room was fine, staff was helpful and friendly, but (as others have said) we had noisy downstairs neighbors who sat outside and argued with one another till the wee hours. Nearly called the front desk but found if we turned on our A/C unit, it covered the voices.
We ate dinner at the restaurant and selected a table outdoors with the nice weather, which was great. A table of drunk young men made the outdoor dining area less than delightful. Went down for breakfast the next morning to find that it was buffet only - not our favorite. Fortunately the waitress recommended their "sister" hotel's restaurant, The Bear's Den, a couple of blocks away. Had a good selection of breakfast foods there, and it worked out well for us.
Would we stay here again? Maybe. Definitely know we would not stay in a lakefront motel. If we came again, we'd be better prepared for handling the less-than-ideal things that cropped up....realizing that some of this had to do with the long weekend.
