“Very nice facility and friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2014

Was in Penticton on business and found the Lakeshore Resort Conventions Centre to be top quality hotel. Casino was a bit same-old but all other aspects of the place are worth staying for. Great Staff, nice restaurants (be sure to stay for Breakfast), and a spectacular view of the lake.

Room Tip: Ask for lakeview

We had 3 nights here in August, in very hot weather. It was great to have a private beach with a nice little bar to relax by. Rooms were of a good size and decor a little underwhelming but perfectly comfortable. Good choice of restaurants/bars and close enough to town to walk in. Quite a busy place, I guess due to the casino but staff were friendly and helpful. All in all, a nice place to go to enjoy a few days by the lake.

This was a wonderful experience, You would have to give the rooms at least 5 star. Carded (private) elevator . Beautiful decor! The breakfast restaurant is out over the lake (GREAT VIEW) but a little pricey.

I won a free night here, so please don't think me ungrateful with my criticism. We were given a nice queen room, but when we came back from dinner there were kids playing hockey in the hallway. We had to phone down twice and twice the bell man told them to stop. The THIRD time I asked for a new room, and we were upgraded to a King room with a lakeview and given a breakfast voucher. The noise from the Barking Parrot bar drifted up a bit but settled down later. There is a lot going on at this hotel, so I can't recommend it if you want something quieter. and don't be a jerk and let your kids disturb other people, especially in a higher end hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the bar and kids.

Stayed at the Penticton Lakeside Resort Convention Centre for business due to it's convenient location and ample on site amenities. Since I was staying multiple nights it was great to have several food options right on site. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Rooms were standard in terms of cleanliness and quality. Lakeside views are impressive. As noted by other reviewers there was a fair amount of noise - Was surprised to be woken up by a group drunkenly roaming the halls at 3am on a Tuesday night. Would stay again because of the convenience, but will be requesting to be situated in a quieter location away from the party crowd.

The room or rather suite was a little old and dated but "fairly" clean - except the old pretzel and chocolate my dog found on the floor that hadn't been vacuumed up before our arrival. The doors were old and thin and the balcony door was soooooo heavy it could barely be opened. There were plenty of extra pillows and blankets but they were not much use as the pull out bed was so miserable and old it could not be slept on. My kids had to make beds out of the extra pillows and sleep on the floor. Not really what we want when we pay to stay in a hotel. The one bed was very comfortable not like mentioned in the other reveiw. We did get $25 a day in breakfast vouchers for the restaurant and cookies and fruit brought around each night which was nice. And, we got free bottled water which some placed charge for. Whenever we called down for something it was taken care of quickly. However our fridge did not work and I lost all the food I bought. They then brought a new one and it promplty froze all the new food I bought. I mentioned this at check out and got a horrified eyebrow raise from the clerk and a "that's too bad" but no offer of compensation.

There were alot of hockey teams there but they seemed to be well behaved. More so than the bar partrons and casino goers. The area seems kinda sketchy with homeless people and gamblers piddling on the side of the building. The pub was ok during the day but became this out of control LOUD night club at night with bounceres inside the lobby. Quite odd and not what I wanted.

The pool was way too cold one day and them a little better the next. But, not really all that enjoyable and in a dungeon like area.

All in the the place was fine and not a bad value in the winter. I would be hard pressed to pay $325 a night in the summer. Alhtough the water front location and patios might increase the value in summer.

The whole place just really needs a refurb - carpets wallpaper, paint, colours, decor all dated.

Hotel well-situated by the lake but without any charm. Old-fashioned rooms with noisy A-C. When the hotel is crowded (as in weekend when we stayed there), it's a kind of "RR central station" atmosphere, which is in fact very tiring. The "front lakeside view rooms" are situated just over the -noisy- restaurants... so it's not the real place to rest. Affable staff. Good restaurant in front of the lake.

I am glad to hear that you found our central, lakeside location convenient and that you enjoyed our lakeside restaurants and accommodating staff. However it is unfortunate that due to the busy summer weekend in which you visited us, there were higher volumes of people and subsequently, more noise disturbance than usual. As a family resort, we do welcome a wide range of local and international guests, particularly during the summer months, which can, at times, result in a busier atmosphere. I do hope that this, however, will not deter you from visiting us again in the future. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback!
