“A very pleasant stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2014

We picked this hotel as a stop after a long day's drive. We were not disappointed.

Located in a quiet area of the city composed of motels, newer condos and retirement home complexes, it is also close to a nice park at the north end of Skaha Lake.

A two story, design around a nice central courtyard that contains an outdoor pool, play area for children, some barbeque grills and seating area, it would provide a relaxing rest for those travelling in the summer where you could safely turn the kids loose after a long day in the vehicle. There is also an indoor pool and hot tub for the cooler months and an exercise room with the traditional set of equipment.

The staff at check in were helpful, informative and pleasant. The lobby is spacious, clean and well maintained.

This is a "mature" building but rooms have been well maintained and ours was very clean, recently renovated and decorated. The age and construction style of the time may reflect some of the comment on sound proofing noted by other reviewers. It was not a problem during our stay.

We had a ground floor room which had two doors, one onto the parking area and the other opening onto the central courtyard.

There were three restaurants within walking distance (no more than a five minute walk) one Chinese, one Thai and a pub restaurant.

Room was large and ours had a fridge, small microwave and a single cup at a time coffee maker. The desk was large enough for those who with work to do and the wireless internet was problem free.

The bathroom was a tad small but every thing was clean and in good working order. The bed was comfortable.

Breakfast was in a nice second floor room with lots of windows and was quite substantial.

Room Tip: If you were travelling with children, I would ask for a ground floor room opening onto the central c...

very comfortable beds, good breakfast, walls a little thin, we could hear the shower next door but overall a great place to stay close to everything. Love the pools, we stayed in the summer and used the outdoor pool and in the winter and used the indoor pool and hottub, great accommodations

hot tub not hot enough, too much supervision "cop like" at the breakfast, must have a lot of cheaters. room is a very nice size and has nice kitchenette. I don't understand why the motel puts everyone to so close together and the dog owners on the top floor. just a nice comfy place to stay, same price as Super 8 and has a great breakfast.

What a pleasure to stay where the rooms are reasonably priced, clean, comfortable, and have everything you need. I had a kitchenette with 4 burner stove, fridge, and microwave. Coffee maker is a Keurig. The staff were welcoming and nothing seemed to be a problem. The breakfast is included and there is a wide variety of hot and cold foods - even for a picky eater. The pool is nice and warm and the pool area is a great place for kids to play and for adults to relax. I would definitely recommend this to all my family and friends and will be staying here from now on when in Penticton. In the summer this place would be so great - outdoor pool, play area, and BBQ in the common areas.

What a great weekend away! The trip was a get away weekend for my wife and I. The Best Western in Penticton did not disappoint. From check in to check out the service was amazing. A very nice property too with a large courtyard in the middle with a pool, bbq area, and playground equipment. Would be great in the summer with the kids. The breakfast bar was very well appointed with plenty of hot and cold food choices. We had a queen suite which had a full kitchen with a full size fridge which would be perfect for a week long stay in the summer plus the BBQ area in the courtyard! Will definitely be back! Thanks!

We stayed here after driving up to visit the grandkids for Christmas. We chose this hotel as it has a great indoor pool with a Jacuzzi for the kids and we knew this as we have stayed here before. You get a discount having BCAA but better yet they are PET FRIENDLY. Shame they charged an extra $10 for our dog as the night before at the Travelodge (Hope BC) they did not AND they were $26.00 cheaper..hmmm...guess where we look into staying next time. Our main reason to stay here was for the pool which we found out after from another 'visitor' that you don't have to be a guest of the hotel to swim there. You can pay a fee and use the facilities so we may well opt for that next time. To bad that the cabinet with all the water toys was locked up in the pool area and inaccessible . When it started getting dark out we had to call the front desk and ask how the lights can be turned on as there was no switches to be found. It only took a few minutes but maintenance was sent to turn the few that did work on but it was still better/safer than swimming in the dark. Room was clean and had an air conditioner/heater that took a bit to figure out.Bathroom had a tub & shower and amply towels available. There was a blow dryer in the washroom as well but not the best.NOTE: the pool towels are in the bottom drawer. There was a bar fridge available to keep things cold and a coffee maker also in the room. They have a full dining area for the complimentary Continental breakfast and it was superb!! It had a waffle maker, sausages, eggs, boiled egg, bagel, cream cheese, and to much more to list but very very nice and plentiful!! Seemed odd that you would walk through the weight room area to access it but thankfully it was too cold for people to be using this area which I may add had nice equipment if that is what you were looking for. Looks like maybe in the summer they may use the outdoor entrance but that was closed as we found out after hiking up the unshovelled snow covered stairs only to find it roped off. Signage at the bottom would definitely made it safer for guest to avoid injury as I almost fell coming down. Overall I would say this place is a nice place to stay but not the best value for my $$..Maybe for families (unless they charge more for kids staying) as we were just 2 adults as the kids didn't stay the night, as they have an enclosed play area with summer BBQ area. There are 2 things I would recommend...1) salt the areas where the water drips from the gutters as I almost slipped in the dark walking on the ice patch it formed on my way to the doggie area (123A-went out the front door and walked through walkway) and 2) would recommend that they do have a supply of doggie bags available as they direct you where to take them to the bathroom area but obviously not everyone packs bags.See you again next year if only for the swim and thanks for the stay..

Room Tip: not 123A if you are a light sleeper or care not to hear everyone as it is beside the walkway to the...

Dear Jroses,

Thank you for taking your time to provide us with a most comprehensive insight into your recent stay with us. Guest feedback is always appreciated. We do hope that you had a great time with your grandchildren over Christmas, I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed the tropical indoor pool & hot tub. I would like to clarify our policy relating to public swimming. This is extended on a very limited basis to local residents who register with us for swimming. The hotel facilities are not available on a regular basis to anyone other than our registered guests. I would also like to clarify that the cabinet you saw in the pool area is for chemicals & supplies only and is kept locked at all times. We have recently installed new digital air conditioning/heating units and an experienced hospitality team to assist our guests when necessary. Thank you for your maintenance suggestions. Doggie bags are a great idea.

We thank you for your business and we look forward to serving you again in the future.
