“Great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

My husband and I stayed here for one night in October to do a wine tour in the area.
ROOM:
We thought the room was well appointed for the price and clean, the bathroom was on the plain side, however it had tons of counter space, mirror was as large as the wall, and a large soaker tub for two...we had brought candles along so the tub was a pleasant surprise. We just had a basic room, and we found it useful to have a mini fridge and microwave in the room.
PROPERTY:
We took advantage of the BBQ in the courtyard which had all the utensils you would need, and we were impressed with how clean staff kept the area. We didn't end up using the hot-tub in the indoor pool area as we used our soaker tub instead, however I thought that was a great asset to choosing this accommodation. There is an outdoor pool and large grassy courtyard with picnic tables and a playground I think...this would be a great choice of accommodation for families in the summer months.
CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST:
The breakfast had decent variety (toast, waffle, yogurt, fruit, scrambled egg, breakfast sausages, cereal), I would say quality of food was average...I think I was spoiled by the continental breakfasts when I was in Europe a few months prior. They did a good job of refilling things before running out.
SERVICE:
Front desk service was friendly and accommodating. We arrived a few hours before check-in as we were leaving for a wine tour, and would not get back from the wine tour until dinner time. There was a room available and we got to unload our stuff at 10:30 before heading out on our tour. The cleaning staff we encountered were also very friendly. Good service at the continental breakfast.

our recent stay at the Best Western in Penticton exceeded expectation - from the friendly, efficient and courteous service at check in to the very clean and comfortable room that allowed pets for a nominal fee, to the amazing breakfast with multiple choices to check out - the experience was second to none. With a score of 10 out of 10 we are sure to return in the future.

Great location, clean, good value plus a nice retro vibe to boot! While the property has been upgraded, the layout of the hotel built around a central outdoor lawn/pool is a nice 60 year throwback. My first floor room had two entrances; one to the exterior parking space right out the door on the back side and the second to the wonderful green space in front of the room. While I didn't use the two outdoor chairs looking out towards the pool, I could imagine how wonderful it would be to sit outside the room on a hot summer night with people splashing in the nearby pool and barbequing dinner. Looks like the type of place that families would return to year after year while enjoying the great Okanagan summers.

The room was basically a small one bedroom suite. The Queen bed filled most of the bedroom while the living/dining/kitchen area was open and didn't feel crowded with the sofa and eating table. The bathroom was small but practical.

For the size of the property, the upstairs breakfast room is too small. Traveling alone, my only choice was at one of the four seat tables. Just after I sat down with my waffle, a youth hockey team and their families showed up. It got very crowded and uncomfortably hot. Instead of slowly enjoying my breakfast and reading the morning paper, I ate quickly so that a family could sit down. Quite unlike my previous three mornings at the Best Western in Osoyoos which had a huge breakfast room. Hate to see how busy the breakfast area must be during July and August.

Otherwise, I enjoyed the "Auto Court" hotel memories and will return.

Good value, leisure oriented accommodation in the Okanagan Valley. The rooms were clean and efficient. There was plenty of free parking. Staff were friendly and helpful. The included hot breakfast was more than adequate.

We received exceptional customer service at this hotel. The general manager, Kelly was amazing! She went out of her way to ensure we got the room we wanted and even went so far as to follow up with a phone call to make sure we were satisfied. This is an older property that has been upgraded. It is excellent for families. We had a 2 bedroom with full kitchen including oven, dishes, cutlery, bakeware and pots and pans. We had a living area, dining area, 2 bathrooms and 3 flatscreen TV's all for less than $130.00. The room was very clean and lots of amenities. The outdoor space included a pool (seasonal), children's playground, 3 bbq's, picnic area and lots of green space. There was also an indoor pool and hot tub also very clean. Breakfast was great with lots of choices. All staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this BW for everyone.

Very nice facility with good breakfast and very good amenities. If you are wine tasting, this area is the best to stay in as you can go North and South to the wineries. This motel gives you good value also.

Room Tip: Rooms around pool have two doors..one to your car and one to the outdoor pool area.

Took and impromptu trip to the Okanagan from Vancouver and stayed here for the night. This older two-story motel-like property has been spruced up at some point and was a nice place to stop for the night. There is a large garden area in the middle of the U-shaped building wings, with an outdoor pool closed for the season. Nice that they ALSO had a separate indoor pool and hot tub area was a nice place to go for a swim and to sit indoors where it was warmer to enjoy the afternoon sun streaming in. HOT hot tub was appreciated. The property is about a mile North of Skaha lake and 3 miles south of Okanagan lake, fine if you use your vehicle or bike to get around... Loved the farmers'/ community market near Okanagan lake on Saturday morning.

Room was on top floor and in a corner- was a bit dark, BUT I liked that it had a door on both sides for easy access either way to parking in back and pool/ lobby out front. A pet peeve is no fan in the bathroom; instead there was a window in the shower that you opened in order to open a second window a couple of inches deeper that opened to the back walkway. But if you opened the second window too much then anyone walking by could see into the shower/ bathroom. Unusual. Bed was nice and slightly firm, and very comfortable. It was nice that a small fridge w/ small freezer was included. Keurig coffee if you like; we just had ours at breakfast.
The breakfast buffet was average Best Western fare (scrambled eggs, small sausage links, waffle makers X 2, muffins, bagels, bread, yoghurt, cereal, bananas,FRESH-PICKED LOCAL apples (YUM!!!) and instant oatmeal.) A hostess checked your room number as you entered and made sure that everyone had what they needed and that all was running smooth. That was very much appreciated!

Check-in and check out was easy and quick and staff were friendly, couteous and very helpful.

Room Tip: We wanted to see what the cute/ unusual Victorian-looking suites with turrets were like in the corne...
