I stayed one night and will never stay again. The hotel is designed like a motel with the guest room doors opening up to open corridors. The entire place is glass, concrete and marble tile. It is very cold and very loud. Each hotel room door is frosted glass which gives you no privacy and made me uncomfortable because I was traveling alone. The room was very small and seemed clean except for a light coating of drywall dust. The TV had confusing remote controls. I wanted my TV on to block out the noise from the guests in the room next door. I could hear everything they did because the hotel echoes like a public swimming pool! After a couple hours I couldn't take it anymore and contacted the manager so that I could check out. I told him I would be happy to pay for the cleaning fee for the two hours I sat in the room. I wanted the rest of my card refunded. He wouldn't do it! He told me he would consider this situation tomorrow because he had never come across it before. He said I was free to leave but my credit card would not be refunded. I really didn't know what do to so I stayed.
Some time after that my room heater started acting up. The fan came on and off every 15 seconds. I went to the front desk for help only to find a note with a phone number to call. So I called the number and a couple minutes later the manager arrived at my door. He smelled strongly of alcohol and after he fixed the heater he lingered in my room trying to make conversation.
After I ushered him out, I turned out the lights and crawled into bed. That's when I realized the corridors have bright lights that shine right through the frosted glass doors all night long! I did not sleep well.
I sent the manager an email a couple days later to explain how disappointed I was and he responded with a very rude email back. I was shocked by the appalling customer service. Do not stay at the Marinaside Resort. It is a waste of money.
