During the tourist season, you'll be paying $89-99 to stay here and it's not really worth it. The hotel is very run down, with the outside desperately needing a new coat of paint and the emergency exit doors broken and permanently ajar. The rooms are not bad, but a bit cramped, and the drain in our shower was clogged the entire time. They also seemed to have problems keeping the pool clean.

There is no room service either, although the food from restauraunt is good and very well priced if you are willing to pick it up.

There are a large number of hotels within a ten minute walk of this one, and I'm sure you could find one that would cost you $20 less a night and be in as good or better shape.

I stayed here for four nights in May. My room had two queen beds and was very spacious and clean. They had an in-room coffee maker as well as complimentary tea, water and breakfast bars which was replaced daily. In the lobby, they had an internet kiosk with inexpensive minute rates. The room rate was very fair. I booked early at the Howard Johnson website and paid 65 CDN a night. The exterior of the hotel suggests to me it is a bit older, but inside it is okay and comfortable. Another reviewer commented about an odd smell. I noticed this too in the hallways but this was the only area, the room was without odor. Other than that, everything else was okay. The staff was helpful and friendly and there is a Tim Horton's across the street.

My girlfriend and I satayed here at the HOJO for 4 nights, end of august 2004...staff was friendly, pool was nice, clean close to everything...onsite bar closes at 3pm though?!...nice hotel for $77/night

Regular price $99 is a ripped off for Howard Johnson. The building is smelly in some area. I would rather go to Travel Lodge and pay $65 per night.
