“Good for Groups But Not Good for Weekend Business Travel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2009

When we arrived tired and anxious for our bed at 10pm the lobby was full of loud laughter and people. The front desk person took about 5 minutes to even hear that we were at the desk and when he did, he didn't even greet us with a smile. When he told us our room was just a few steps from the lobby, I asked if we could be put in a quieter room. He said they were full and couldn't move us but that he would ask everyone to keep it down after 11pm.

We actually didn't find the lobby noise bad at all - what was bad was the sound of doors closing!! They were EXTREMELY loud. And, with so many people in and out of their rooms that night and at 6am (for an early morning hockey tournament and ball tournament), we only had a four hour window to sleep.

The second night and morning weren't any better. In fact, while trying to prepare for our morning meeting we actually had to call to the front desk (at 8:30am) and ask that they deal with the ball hockey tournament that was taking place outside our room.

The staff was less than friendly or helpful with regards to this noise. And, because we were traveling with our dog ($15/night fee) we were not allowed to move anywhere else in the hotel.

But - the breakfast was great! The rooms have internet for free. The beds are comfortable and the amenities are more than adequate. For the kids the hotel really is great - there is a waterslide and pool.

It's right across from Costco, steps from lots of restaurants and easily accessed from the highway. Like my title said - it's great for groups which there were LOTS of at this hotel for the weekend.

I have a lot of good things but for what amounted to almost $200/night with the dog fees ... I honestly expect to be able to get a quiet night of sleep. And I think the front desk service should have been much better!

I am sure during the week is much better but the door noise will still be bad.

If you wish to see Kelowna and the lake you need to stay downtown. This hotel is 3 miles east of the center of town on Route 97. As a business hotel, or for groups, it is fine. Recently built the rooms are large and nicely furnished. The staff was friendly and attentive and they have free internet access in their business center. Breakfast is included...covers the basics. There is plenty of parking and there are a lot of chain restaurants in the immediate facility.

This hotel opened up its doors back in 2007 and still has the new hotel feel. Its lobby is stylish, its front desk staff helpful and informative, its breakfast room tidy, and the rooms are what you'd expect from a Marriott-managed hotel. For those who haven't stayed in a Marriott, the rooms are decently sized with all the required facilities (but no safe in these rooms), the beds are very comfortable, the towels are really thick, and the personal care products smell delicious.

We did not get the chance to use the outdoor pool, waterslide or fitness area, but I imagine they will be useful/fun in the summertime.

The location is what drew us in: just on the main artery, Harvey Street, near to trendy restaurants, as well as banks, grocery stores/pharmacies, and shops.

We stayed here for New Year's eve and I was so impressed with all the staff! Always happy and friendly, they would do anything to make our stay better. A close drive to nearby ski resorts, why would you ever pay the price they charge up there when this place is such a good value? When we were there, even though it was freezing, a manager stayed late so she could open up the heated pool and water slide for two kids staying there. To see people who care about their job and making guests happy is such a breath of fresh air!
Also try restaurant accross the street. Fun and hip1

A great place to stop off on the way through the Rockies. We found this hotel comfortable and appreciated the adjoining, connected, large and well appointed rooms for our children. Easy car parking in large area. The pool was nice and the slide good for children. The one thing we were disappointed in was breakfast there was very little healthy or unprocessed.

Positive reviews have been very accurate.
I'm just adding a few pics.

- Staff are very helpful & enthusiastic.
- Extremely comfortable bed.
- Free convenient parking compared to downtown hotels.
- Location is short walking distance to Costco, Walmart & several chain restaurants.

I regularly stay in Fairfield Inns and Hampton Inns when traveling for work. This Fairflield is only a year old and really is quite lovely. Good location right off HWY 97. Next to Target.

The rooms are nicely upgraded with large screen TV, huge beds with very nice linens. Free internet in the rooms and small business centre in the lobby with free internet and printing. Ample free breakfast - standard for Fairfields.

Small fitness centre. Small pool and hot tub in front with a massive RED water slide that I'm sure was put there to attract families/kids driving by. For business travelers, don't be alarmed. Still a good business-traveler-oriented hotel. For families - go for it!

When back in Kelowna, I'll seek out this hotel first for availability. Great value!
