We're not campers but visited friends who were. While one must pay for camping, the hike up the waterfall is free. Driving from Kelowna to the Fintry Delta and provincial park, passengers will be thrilled (or in my case, terrified) by the narrow, windy West Side Road with its vertical drops from the road to the rocks and lake hundreds of feet below. Whew! Let's fast forward to the Shorts Creek Waterfall at historic Fintry Estate. Take the 330 solidly built stairs up. Be first and take a photo of your friends behind you to appreciate the steepness of the ascent. Savour the views while you pause at strategically placed landings to catch your breath and the power of the waterfalls. Meander down the winding path. And be happy that you are on the land side driving home. A nice afternoon excursion.
