Quails Gate is one of my favorite wines south of Kelowna from the Okanagan Valley. The 'Old Vines' restaurant is ensconced in a picturesque setting overlooking the vineyards and lake.
What I didn't like is when we arrived for brunch there was no host/hostess to seat us. So, we took the liberty of seating ourselves outside on the patio. We got rudely reprimanded by a male host and told we should not have done that!
The food and wine were good, but I was left with a bad taste in my mouth after the rude welcome! The kitchen staff tried to make it up by providing nice tasting meals. Needless to say, I didn't end up sampling any of their wines that day. That negative winery experience by an employee having a bad day was the only disappointment throughout our wine tour excursions.
