My 8 yr old and I loved our stay. It is central, clean, reasonable and th continental was perfect, just like home. But bad coffee(Tim Hortons is only a block away). Our room was clean and comfortable. The pool and hot tub were perfect. The area is typical of any city's downtown location. A little seedy (the city is trying to clean it up), noisy (it is DOWNTOWN) but iverall its location across from the park and beach, two very short blocks from the main streets, a short drive to the mall, close to the highway all make for an ideal location. The staff were wonderful! Very helpful and considerate. Going back this summer for more of the same.

While the hotel was cheaper than other hotels and the continental breakfast was handy, the location is terrible. It is located amidst boarded up buildings, a bar, and several homeless shelters/missions. Unsavoury characters wander the streets and homeless people sleep in doorways. We were kept up a whole night because of several violent incidents we watched outside our hotel window, requiring three interventions by police. Then there were all the car alarms, which we always checked to make sure our rental car wasn't being stolen.

Besides this, the electronic door keys barely worked, requiring the front desk to open our door with the master key. The hotel kept bothering us with calls about the door during the day, waking our baby up from naps repeatedly. Then they called and accused us of having their master key, but then found it in their own drawers. The front desk staff was rude and brusk and we would NEVER consider staying here again.

rooms were clean and decorated nicely, friendly staff, great location-near the water, continental bkfst. Would go back!

It's located in the downtown core and, with crackheads and crystal meth addicts using the park across the street to get high, it's impossible for it to be anything but terrible. Police sirens going off every couple of hours make it hard to relax for a good sleep. The room I got is a tiny, semi-clean hole with a stupid layout, and, being on the ground floor, is very easy for the addicts to bust into. I don't feel safe. I hate to say all of this because none of this is the fault of the staff or the owners. (The front desk person, Chantal, is awesome.) It's the result of years of terrible government in BC and an even worse judicial system. I'm not sure if there are many places left in BC where a normal person can relax and rest. Considering that I was born and raised here, this is very heartbreaking to say.
