This is my go-to hotel when in Kelowna. It's close to everything you could possible need including vineyards, the airport, restaurants and more.
I took full advantage of the small business centre for scanning my receipts while on the road for business.
I'll talk about service in a minute but on a positive note, I forgot my phone charger at home and the only charger I had was my car charger. So I asked reception if perhaps a previous guest might have forgotten a phone charger (Android) because I know I've done that many times while travelling. They have a lost and found and the girl at the front desk was most accommodating. She found a charger for me and there seemed to be plenty to choose from :)
So on to service, that's where this hotel lost 2 stars because of two really small and simple issues I had. Everything was great, 5 star review, I was even greeted on my second day by name. Fantastic!
My first small issue was that I didn't have my receipt under my door on the first morning. I had a newspaper but no receipt.
On my way downstairs I asked reception for a copy and they were more than happy to print off another receipt. The really strange thing is that by the time I returned to my room, which was around 9am, there was a receipt under my door! Everyone else had theirs early, around 6-7am because you could see the papers sticking out from under other guests hotel room doors. What happened to mine? It's still a mystery.
My second issue is that on the second day, I had no newspaper. Was it because I booked via my points for the second nights stay that I got lost in translation for a morning paper? Everyone else had one but me. Sad I know :)
So back downstairs and I asked if I could get a newspaper but the girl at the front desk said that they had none left. No extras? Strange. I probably would ave gone and found an extra paper for my guest but that's just me. Or perhaps asked someone to go buy at one of the many retail outlets nearby. Again, just me.
So the point of all this is that why would I continue to stay at a hotel, collect thousands of points, spend thousands of dollars a year and remain loyal too a brand if the "small" things are missed? Comapines are offering less and less these days and service sometimes seems to be on par with that.
Other than that, it's still a nice, clean hotel minus 1 or 2 hairs found on the floor and a couple of nail clipping (nasty). There's a great pool and Jacuzzi and if you're driving, it's minutes away from some of the best wine experiences you'll ever have in the Okanagan!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience regarding your recent stay at our hotel.
On behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologize for failing to exceed your expectations. It is still a mystery about your receipt. However, thanks so much about mentioning about your newspaper. Sincerely, we have a daily amount delivered to us and we had simply run short of Globe and Mail; I have however increased our order with the Toronto based company by 30%. I do hope that this assists in ensuring all our Choice members receive their morning newspaper.
Thank you once again and we hope to be able to welcome you back in the future.
