Having grown up in Kelowna, sometimes it's fun to go back, but often 'tricky' to stay with family. Read some great reviews about Comfort Suites on Trip Advisor, and thought the price was right, let's go for it! Tough location, can only get in from one direction as they are building something next door. Asked for a quiet room. We stayed in a King Suite, top floor, at the end of the hall away from the elevator and families. It overlooked the new construction next door. As we stayed on a Friday through Monday, (August 5th through 8th), we caught the end of the day for the workers on Friday, but they were at it early on Monday morning. You could also hear the highway noise, but appropriate for time of day.
The space was very nicely appointed, the bed ultra comfortable, loved the hypoallergenic pillows, also comfy, great shower, nice to have a microwave and fridge in the room. I did think the sitting room should have been configured differently. It was a bit longer walk from the bed to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, and we had to move the chair at the desk, so as not to run into it. Since I have a problem with light when I sleep, I always bring my sleeping mask. Glad I did. Although there were black out drapes, they were covered with a light, sheer fabric. There were brown drapery panels on each side, but they were for decorative purposes, and did not close. That would have been so great! The air conditioner was loud when it cycled on. The fridge also made a hum, but it was very intermittent and easy to get used to. Free breakfast service in the morning - I did not partake as I met my sis for early morning power walks, but the hubs said the 'preformed' egg offerings were kind of buttery. I managed to grab a banana on the way out each morning - they tasted just fine:) Having complimentary breakfast included in the price is a very nice touch. Nice indoor pool, hot tub - workout facility very small, but open 24 hours per day. Front desk staff, and housekeeping staff ultra friendly and always willing to accommodate/assist in any way. The complimentary coffee which is offered all day long was GREAT! Some of the best coffee we've ever had. There's a safe in each room as well. If you sign up for the Choices privilege program, you also get free local calls, and free internet. It looks like they are constructing a small shopping area next door, with restaurants etc., but that won't be finished for at least a few months. Try and stay on the side of the hotel away from the construction if you can remember that.
All in all, we really did enjoy our stay there - the room was nicely, contemporarily decorated/appointed, and very clean - trust me, I always check the beds! It's a compact property and met all our needs for the weekend. Nowhere near the beach, but near where we needed to be for the weekend. We'd like to thank everyone at Comfort Suites for their hospitality - but please think about getting darker drapes, eh? That would have made my sleeps 'mask free'. Oh, and if someone can let us know what brand of coffee you serve, we'd love to have some at home!!
