“Great alternative to a Kamloops motel”

Lakeside Country Inn

We stayed here for one night on the way from Revelstoke to Whistler. We had driven past Savona and stayed at the Riverside B&B in Kamloops a week earlier and had thought of cancelling our stay here as Savona just looked awful from the road. However we decided to trust my gut instinct at hunting out good places to stay and are glad we did. As I have said Savona itself is not attractive from the highway-it looks like a dumping ground for scrap metal . However..... the Lakesisde is genuinely lakeside and the grounds are immaculately maintained by the owner. The garden flows on down to the lake and they have outdoor seating and braziers on the beach-very nice. The whole property was very attractive.
The room we had was spotlessly clean and the owners were kind enough to let us heat up our microwave dinners in their kitchen. Margaret even gave us a dishcloth and washing up liquid so we could save our bowls to make salad for the next day!!!
We had a very nice stay here -my husband went for a run around the lake while I sat on a sun lounger and read my travel guide in between watching all the birdlife.
Recommended.

Our family stayed here overnight, both on the way to and from Vancouver. Makes a really nice halfway stay between the rockies, and the west coast. The room we had was spotless, spacious and very nicely decorated, with a lovely kitchen area, and a balcony overlooking the gardens and lake. The gardens are just gorgous, and the beach is nice for a refreshing swim. The breakfast we had was more than adequate, with choices of toast, home baking, and cereals, yogurt and fruit, and homemade jams and jellies, all served in a lovely sunroom overlooking the gardens. I would absolutely recommend, staying here, it is lovely and peaceful, and a perfect location to stay over on your way to or from Vancouver off of the Trans Canada Highway. The diner cafe in Savona is also great for basic homecooked meals and pies...doesn't look like much from the outsided, but the food is super!

“Absolutely Beautiful”

Lakeside Country Inn

We only stayed here for one night and we were so annoyed it wasn;t for longer. A real idillic place. Spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and with excellent service. Each room/apartment is wonderfully equipt and offers you a tranquil, cosy place to relax. The views are lovely. The only query we would have is whether there is a lot to do in the surrounding area, but we didn't make an effort to find out about any of the near by sites or amenities. Unfortunately in the morning there was a power cut in the area which meant we were unable to have a cooked breakfast. However, the owner went out of her way to provide fruit, cereal, juice and bread (and also took a little off the final bill). Would have loved to have stayed here for a few days.

Just browsing on the net, looking at old holiday photos and remembered this spot.
It really was the most lovely two day stay, the gardens took our breath away, they really are superb.
The room was spotless, comfy beds and a balcony with a great view of the lake.
Great brekfast, fresh juice, fruit, and lovely hot toast to have with my vegemite( i never leave home without it).
I would recommend this lovely inn to all .
