“Beautifully-restored steam locomotive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

I didn't ride the train because I wanted to photograph the locomotive. Friends told me that the locomotive was a deteriorating display where kids would play, but a few years ago some citizens formed a group with the intention of restoration. They did a magnificent job. The train runs several evenings each summer week, taking passengers on a short run across the river and back, plus there are special events throughout the year.

This is the 100th anniversary of the locomotive. It took 8 years to restore to its present state.

“Nice Ride for Young Train Lovers”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

My family booked the one hour train ride based on a recommendation from a friend during our stop-over in Kamloops. We were so glad we did. My boys, especially my 2 year old, loved the experience of actually riding on a steam train. They both really enjoyed the experience but were somewhat confused by the heist. My husband and I thought the train ride was ok and it wasn't very scenic. Still, the boys enjoyed walking up and down the train exploring as well as looking as the steam train up close.

“Heritage train”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

It was a good expetirnce for our grand daughter to sort of exeprience life on a train many years ago. The staged train robbery was well presented and seemed to please all who attended.

“One hell of a 'special' train ride”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2012

Whether you are a railway buff or not this is an excellent evenings entertainment and for many who recall the days of steam, a nostalig journey. The 2141 steam train is the very last of it's class and the railway is run by a charitable non-profit organization. The highly enjoyable one hour rail tour is staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers who bring their considerable enthusiam the bare to make this a most memorable trip. The star of the show is, of course, the engine. This majestic beast pulls the open carriages, buffet car and "caboose" over the Thompson River railway bridge for it's short trip into the open countryside before returning, only to be held up by horse riding train robbers. It is all great fun, regardless of age and is a very reasonalby priced attraction. Highly recommended.

“A slice of History”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

This is a short excursion on a real steam train. At the end there is a mock holdup with masked gunmen on horses. Fun for kids of all ages.
