We have just enjoyed another great weekend getaway at the Harrison Heritage House on the Sept 27th weekend. On the way up from Vancouver we stopped at Hemlock Valley and saw all of the fall colours just starting to show. Our room was ready when we arrived and so we had time to unpack, relax a bit and go for a pre-dinner hike up to the entrance to the Harrison River. The next morning with the sun shining we were able to enjoy the wonderful breakfast that Sonya provided on the patio just outside our room.

We have stayed at the Harrison Heritage House several times and have stayed both in the B&B rooms and in the separate cottages. For longer stays the cottages are perfect as there is plenty of room and we can make our own meals. For a weekend or overnight stay, we like the B&B rooms. Harrison Lake has always been one of our favorite places as it is a quiet town with tons of fresh air and places to walk. In the past we have stayed at the big hotel but prefer the quiet gardens and cozy, private atmosphere of the Harrison Heritage House. We still enjoy the walk down to the big hotel to have a look at the stores and for a coffee at Miss Marguerite's -- but a look is enough !

On our next visit we plan to bring our bikes along. Another couple we met this time had brought theirs and were having a great time exploring. We have already booked out next stay for the Christmas Parade weekend on November 29th. It will be a nice weekend break before we launch into the Christmas rush.

Brian and Margaret, Wellingborough, England. 6th Oct 2008.
This is our 6th visit to this property in beautiful BC, Canada. We usually have one of the self-catering Kottages and are warmly welcomed by our hosts Sonja and Robert. The selction of Kottages cater to all families' needs and even include easy disabled access if required, which we may need in the future. The cleanliness and hospitality are fantastic and help toward a peaceful and relaxing visit to this part of Canada. Because this latest visit was only for a weekend, we decided to go for the B&B option in the smallest unit; we say smallest, but in fact the space was more than adequate for the 2 of us. We were overwhelmed by the breakfast, which was absolutely fabulous and differed each morning and was most welcome after a very quiet and peaceful night's sleep. This was yet another wonderful visit to Harrison Hot Springs.

I wanted a short two-day getaway with my 12 year old son, something not as rough as camping but not as fancy as the big hotel or resort lodges. What we got here was beyond perfect.. the other cottages are adorable for romantic getaways but we wanted something for a mum and her son and a fun time away. That is exactly what we got. The smallest cottage was cozy to a T, clean, comfortable, cute and relaxing all at the same time. The large lovely green and treed garden led to a river, a tree with a swing, and a basketball hoop all of which were delightful. Everything is a short walk away so we could pop out and then come back for a cup of tea and a read of our books in our little cottage away from home. The folks running the place were kind, friendly and approachable. They obviously care about what they are doing, and it shows. Having an almost-teenager exclaim "we should do this every year!" is all the advertisement you could want :)

  • Liked — The coziness and access to everything in town, free parking, friendly host(ess)
  • Disliked — Nothing to complain about at all

We booked the majority of our out of town wedding party and family into the Harrison Heritage House and I was wowed from day one. The owners were open and friendly and went way above and beyond to make the whole process easy for me to make group bookings and individual bookings. When we arrived, I just fell in love with the beauty and overall feeling of the Harrison Heritage House. Everything was clean, the gardens were spectacular and everyone felt incredibly welcome and comfortable. Other guests were staying in four - five other properties in Harrison Hot Springs and nothing even came close to comparing to the beauty, warmth and comfort of the Harrison Heritage House. I will heartily recommend this property to anyone who will listen - this was a fantastic place to stay and we will suggest it to our family who come in from our of town from now on.

This is the best B&B we've been to in a very long time. It was quiet, relaxing, cozy, very clean and neat.
Having our own entrance was great because we could come and go without feeling like we were bothering anyone. The grounds were neat and very well groomed. Being only a block away from the beach and from shops was also a bonus. A great place to go anytime of the year. We're looking forward to next year already.
