“Surprise at the end of the Road!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

We were visiting Victoria from Alberta for a long weekend. Just went for a drive on a Sunday morning and found this wonderful Cafe at the end of the road we took by Duncan. Beautiful drive! Tranquil marina.
We decided to go in for a bowl of soup and were pleasantly surprised at such a diverse/ gourmet menu. I did have a large bowl of clam chowder ( lots of pieces of fish- salmon, etc.) and my husband was persuaded to have the seafood pasta- not disappointed- lots of seafood in it also. Pleasant staff and atmosphere.

“hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

This really is the classic hidden gem. On the water in a secluded bay overlooking a tranquil marina. Enough to make you sigh even before you get fed. The food is excellent and the staff are helpful and friendly. Imaginative cuisine executed at a gourmet level with the view to match. Great for that quick afternoon snack as well if all you are looking for is a cool one and some really good fish and chips.

“Exceptional...!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

We chose the Genoa Bay Cafe based on user reviews. Were not not disappointed in the slightest. Our visit was absolutely perfect!
We went on a Sunday for brucnh. I had the Benny and my wife the 'Traditional' breakfast. There was nothing traditional about our meal. I don't know what they do to get their home fries to taste like that but you will quickly find your 'new favourite' homefries. The benny was covered in fresh gourmet hollondaise and sitting on a herb flatbread. Simply incredible.
The atmosphere was wonderful and extremely inviting. The 2 gentlemen running this place are absolutely wonderful and with a quick look around it shows.....they do everything right.
Things are well spaced and very, very clean. The prices are very fair and well balanced. In closing I will say this is probably one of the best restaurants we've ever been to. They bring to the table incredible service, decadent food with a stellar view and all at an amazing price.
Be prepared for a nice drive too. It's aboout 15 minutes from the Trans Canada HWy but you will find an area I'm sure you've not seen. A hidden gem for sure.
We will be returning for the couples evening we were told about. 2 people, appys, entree's and dessert...all in for $50 dollars.

“A lovely meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

We have lived in the area of this restaurant for many decades, and a visit there very recently impressed us more than ever with a very lovely meal. The food was delicious and the service was excellent, but I'd like to draw visitors' attention to the fact that the drive out to Genoa Bay really is particularly attractive- don't let the 20 minute drive from Duncan put you off. Go in daylight hours, and you'll probably find the drive a bonus. My only criticism is that the prices on the existing wine menu push the cost higher than you may be expecting: I don't think a couple of vin ordinaire would detract from the ambience.
