“Weekend in Chilliwack”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

We stayed at Greendale in late February to attend the Mt Cheam dog show and to enjoy the circle farm tour. We loved our stay! The cottage was perfect for our needs, well appointed and extremely comfortable. The farm fresh eggs along with local cheese and wine was a great touch.
Holly toured us through her studio and I have a beautiful piece to remember this weekend.
We look forward to returning, and will be sure to recommend to our friends and family

This super private guesthouse is both luxurious and comfortable at the same time. Holly and Ken are great hosts, very personable to talk to...but also giving you complete privacy in the guesthouse. The space is so well designed and decorated that it is the perfect place to unwind, disconnect from the world (though there is tv and wifi for those who wish to stay connected), and connect with each other. This place is also immaculate...so clean and spotless, and everything looks brand new! The wine on arrival is such a nice touch, as well as stocking the cupboards with teas, jams, and locally roasted fresh organic coffee beans. I would HIGHLY recommend this for a getaway...our only regret is that we were unable to stay for more than one night. But there is always next time!!!:)

My husband and I just got back from staying 5 nights at Greendale's wonderful guest house. Holly and Ken were the perfect hosts to an exceptional stay. We were in town for a family wedding and thoroughly enjoyed the freedom, luxury and peace of their farm retreat that offers the best accommodation and scenic views anywhere. Ken and Holly know exactly how to make you feel at home and how to treat their guests (farm fresh eggs in the fridge, luxury coffee and fresh flowers on the table were just some of the treats we enjoyed). Everything was spotless and in wonderful taste. I have stayed in many places in many countries and this is by far my favourite! I now have some of Holly's superb pottery as a reminder of my stay. Thank you Holly and Ken! (next time I will know where to find the bicycles!)

Very private suite. We especially enjoyed the top notch Cobb's bakery pastries and the organic orange juice and the selection of fresh fruit and yogurt. Great value for the breakfast. The complimentary wine gift was great too! The hot tub was relaxing. The suite and the linens were completely spotless. Holly's recommendation for dinner was spot-on. We unreservedly recommend Greendale to all of our friends and family.

The pottery in Holly's shop is lovely. She is an extremely talented and versatile potter. Save some room in your trunk!!!

Our stay was two nights and after the first five minutes of settling into this immaculately appointed suite, we wanted to move in. But since we couldn't do that, we made sure we organized our daily events to be back in plenty of time to soak up some more atmosphere. We loved the colours, the brightness of the space which was enhanced by the vaulted ceilings and skylights, to the two-person jacuzzi tub set right in the corner of the windows so you can see the amazing view and sky. The breakfast is optional but was lovely and we added a few bits of our own, as there is a proper fridge and freezer there in the little kitchen. It was a super clean home away from home and we look forward to planning another visit, as soon as possible. I have nothing but positive things to say and the only negative thing was that the cows woke us up .. lol. Hardly a real complaint. We couldn't help but pick up some pottery pieces as gifts for friends, and one for each other as a momento of our fabulous visit.

Greendale Pottery & Country Guest House surpassed our expectations. Located on a country road, behind a farmhouse, down a long driveway, is a modern home with an in-house pottery shop. When we approached the home, we popped into the pottery shop to pick up the key to the guesthouse from Holly. She was warm, energetic and relaxed - exactly my kind of person.

She took us up a set of stairs next to the shop, and showed us the Guest House. It was located right above the pottery shop and was private and immaculately kept. Immediately to our left when we entered the suite was a whirlpool tub. Straight ahead was the cozy livingroom with a thermostat-controlled fireplace, DVD and tv. On the back wall was a desk are which allowed us to plug in our laptop and connect to the internet. SInce we were there for our studies, this was essential!

The view from the back of the suite captured the spectacular mountains and farm fields. Holly and Ken put a patio set on the deck for visitors to take in the view. I recommend you take advantage of this!

The kitchen/dining area was just beyond the living room (open concept) and the kitchen had everything but a stove. Since they have a large toaster oven, a microwave and a barbeque, the oven wasn't missed one little bit!

On the dining room table was a cheese and cracker plate, and half-litre bottles of white and red wine. Such a treat to arrive to!

Just behind the kitchen was the main bedroom with a king size bed and a door to the balcony outside. It led to the main bathroom which had a large shower, heated floors, inviting plush white towels and even wipes for make-up removal!

Down the hall was a second bedroom with a queen size bed. It was bright and welcoming, just like the other bedroom was.

The floors are tiled throughout - and heated in the bathroom and in front of the jacuzzi tub. Everything was warm, inviting, and so welcoming.

Holly displayed her pottery throughout the suite and I can't say enough about her talent. She has a unique style, and uses crystal glazes which set her apart from other potters. It's well worth a visit - even if you're not staying at the suite! I challenge you to walk through her studio and not puchase something. Her prices are fair and you know you walk away with a piece of art.

If you're looking for a relaxing, beautiful place to stay, then I highly recommend Greendale Country Guest House. I also recommend their farm fresh eggs, laid by their own chickens. This place is really something else.

Very highly recommended.

We stayed 4 nights at this guest house/suite and it was lovely. The suite is close enough to everything yet in a country setting. The suite is very nicely done and immaculate; private and quiet. There are two bedrroms, a living room area with t.v./stereo, a kitchenette and a large Jacuzzi tub. There are skylights throughout. A tray of wine, cheese , crackers and grapes awaited when we arrived and in the kitchenette there is a stash of organic coffee and teas (we were also given a dozen eggs!). Holly gave us a map and showed us several good restaurants in Chilliwack. This is not a traditional B&B where you live right in the owner’s home and have breakfast with them, etc. You will have privacy and come and go as you please, which was perfect for us as we were attending a family reunion. A continental breakfast is offered for an additional cost but we did not choose that option. Holly’s profession is pottery (her pottery is displayed throughout the suite) and she has a small shop below the guesthouse. She took some time to show us her pottery and kiln and explain some of her techniques. This was a unique experience in a lovely guesthouse that I would not hesitate to recommend.
