my wife and I spent a saturday night at the lodge and found it met or exceeded our expectations, the room(king size bed) was very comfrtable, the room was quiet with very heavy drapes (kept the parking lot lighting out) the cleanliness was impressive the staff harried but helpful and the restraunts in the lodge average to good. The grandchildren loved the waterslide although it needed some maintenence on the starway( algae) the casino was fun and busy( the blackjack table coverings were absolutely worn out) the sunday brunch (with chocolate fountain) looked very good but a bit pricey($16.00). overall it was a good experiance and catered to a family stay 8 out of ten!

My family really enjoyed our stay at the Medicine Hat Lodge. The rooms very comfortable and clean. The kids loved the waterslides and pool.

Absolutely one of the worst experience with a hotel that I have had.We were supposed to arrive on 10/30... due to weather problems in Alberta we ended up only making it as far as Brooks Alberta. We called the hotel and the person that we talked to indicated that it wasn't a problem and she would go ahead and cancel our room.When we arrived their front desk manager proceeds to inform me that they charged us for the prior night as a no show. No amount of arguing would change his mind. His response was the hotel was nearly full and I could have filled the room. They showed no record that we called.To make matters worse, the room they assigned us to had no heat. Temeratures outside were below zero and our room temperature never reached more than 60 degrees. After a couple of complaints to the front desk they sent up a bellman to look at it. It is now 10pm we'd reported the problem at 3 in the afternoon. When we got back to our room the last thing we wanted was to worry about this issue. The hotel food was marginal at best. My wife had the buffet. The selection was quite sparse and what was available was either cold or overcooked. I ordered off of the menu and for Alberta having the best beef I must say this "Alberta" beef was tough and certainly not prepared as ordered.They do have an indoor waterslide and a casino. I guess that might rate a few points if you can get past the rude service provided by the front desk manager, the poor maintenance of the rooms and their sheer lack of responsiveness to guest needs.Overall a 1 or a 2 on a scale of 10. I don't care how many free certificates they send me. It isn't a hotel I would choose to stay in again.

We recently stayed @ the Med Hat Lodge. We had booked 2 months in advance for 3 pool side rooms side by side. They confirmed as early as two days before our arrival that our rooms were blocked. Upon arriving the rooms were scattered all over the pool area. They suggested there was nothing they could do. The waterslide area was not clean including the wading pool which I had to keep my daughter out of. The waterslide water was very cold and the hot tub was not hot. We had lukewarm showers in the morning. The room service forgot cutlery. In summation, our stay was shadowed by mix ups, incompetent people and a hotel in extreme need of a cleaning. We won't be staying there again.
