“Great Hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2006

I stayed at the Lethbridge Lodge on business last week and was very impressed by how convenient it was. The hotel is right downtown so it was easy for me to get to work. The room was clean and large enough for me to work comfortably. The food in the lounge was great and they even had a live singer- listening to the music surrounded by all of the plants in the courtyard made me feel like I was on vacation! Overall it was a great experience especially because every staff member I encountered was very friendly. I stay in a lot of hotels and found the staff here to be among the most attentive. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anybody going to Lethbridge.

I stayed in this hotel as part of a large group on a busy weekend at the hotel. We checked in around 2pm and some people in our group had to wait over an hour in the lobby for their rooms to be cleaned and ready. It seemed that the front desk was really disorganized.

The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. They are starting to look a little tired and old, however, which can be said for most of the hotel.

The main indoor courtyard or dining/pool area just off the lobby is really quaint and beautiful with all the well kept vegetation, small pathways, bridges, fountains, and flowers. This part really is the saving grace for this hotel. The hotel's bar/cafe is situated in the middle of this and at night is a lovely place to have a cocktail while listening to the live guitarist. We were told, however, that the bar closed down quite early in the night which was dissapointing to some of the guests.

The formed pool is ok but quite small. It was crazy busy with children so don't expect a nice leisurely swim without a kid jumping on your head in the pool.

Something that really aggravated me about this hotel are the elevators. They are the slowest elevators I have ever had the displeasure of using. Unfortunately, I had a lot of equipment and baggage to move into the room so I had to use one of these contraptions. If you really need the aid of an elevator make sure you have a lot of patience or a novel with these ones, especially if the hotel is busy.

All in all, the hotel was average and of average value for the money paid. They're stilling living on a legacy and the draw of the beautiful indoor atrium but if they don't renovate soon and organize the front desk service, it's going to hurt their business.

The Lethbridge Lodge has a very nice resort-like feel when you walk through the large atrium. I would suggest getting a room that views the atrium as opposed to one that faces outside. There is not much to view on the outside rooms. The rooms, most definitley need a make-over as they dont do this place any justice. It is in a great location, very close to shopping and actually has a very fun bar below (popular with University students and also the local Lethbridge crowd) called Ezzies!

Enjoy.
