We were in Jasper for the weekend and wanted to have a nice dinner out. After looking up reviews and menus online, we decided on Fiddle River and made a reservation. The second-floor restaurant (there is an elevator, if needed) offered fantastic views of the mountains, and the atmosphere was lovely. They also have a nice selection of beer and wine. For our meals, I went with the braised elk stroganoff and my fiance ordered the charbroiled New York steak. Both dishes were amazing. My elk was buttery and melt-in-your-mouth tender, and was served with a rich flavourful sauce, fresh vegetables, and creamy whipped potatoes. We both left happy and extremely satisfied with our experience.

- Side of rice was minute rice.
- Seafood pot was tasty, but portion size was small for $28.

Very enjoyable dinner with wonderful PEI mussels and Alaskan King crab. Would definitely recommend. large helpings, go hungry

Other reviews looked positive and cab driver said that we would not be disappointed. Overall, service and menu selection was good, wine list is limited, food preparation was okay. The item on the menu I was looking forward to was the venison shank which was not available so server recommended lamb shank which was just okay. We had King Crab leg as an appetizer (1 leg) and it arrived cold. I guess it could have been an off day for the restaurant. It was slow (only a few tables were occupied). Would not rate it more than average based on our experience... Agreed on getting a window seating.
