“Very Tranquil”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

Very well maintained cabins and motel rooms. If you like to hike, this is the place for you. Location is remote, but the hot springs are right next door and are open from 10:30 in the morning to 9 PM at night. Great for relaxing after a long hike. Mountain views are spectacular and being out there gives you great opportunities for viewing wildlife at dawn or dusk. Got some great shots here. This is about 45 minutes from Jasper, so keep this in mind when traveling. There is a restaurant on site and one at Pocahontas cabins where you turn off the main highway to get to the hot springs. As other reviews state, this is rustic - but if you enjoy the outdoors this is the place to be.

We had a room in what's called "The Chalet" which was very cramped and noisy from the constant traffic upstairs.
We stayed three days and had to ask for garbage bags to change the garbage, toilet paper for the bathroom and fresh towels. The cleaning staff did not come and clean once in the three days.
Also, it was an unpleasant surprise to find an additional fee charged to go into the hot springs. Most hot springs incorporate the pool admission price into the accommodation fee. Not here.
The room was not cheap, but the service was.
Finally, the resort restaurant was tasteless.
If I ever go back, I would stay elsewhere and just do day trips to the hot springs.

Room Tip: I think the cabins might give a person better value and privacy.

Booked last minute so stayed at the motel! Reasonable for $115 per nite for two queens and a set of bunkbeds, fridge, table. I would recommend more lighting in the shower room. This property is well maintained and has rustic motels and cabins on property. The goats are wandering around even entered the laundry room! There are picnic tables set up for the guests to enjoy or BBQ on. The restaurant was very delicious and moderately priced! The hot springs are located there and we went for a visit there too! I would definitely stay here instead of Jasper. Way cheaper and the scenery is amazing! The road is very winds around and around and is gravel and very narrow and on the way there you wonder where the heck you are going but the end result is incredible. My favorite place the whole trip and we hope to come back and stay longer in a cabin. No CELL phone or internet service. The odd room has a TV in the motels.

Room Tip: Book early and get a cabin!

I have been coming to this place since I was a small child, so approximately 45 years. The bungelows are not a resort, rather rustic instead. It is like going camping but a step up with heat, bathrooms, tv etc. The peace and quiet up there is beyond belief for a city girl. Lots of wild animals. I have seen loads of chipmunks, squirrels, hummingbirds, goats, sheep, elk and black bears. The hiking in the area run from easy to real hard. One trail follows the river and after an easy two hour walk comes to a waterfall. The trail goes up from there. The other trail is strenuous and ends at the top of the ridge. After a day of hiking sit in the hot pools, the hottest pools in the Canadian Rockies. The stars are fabulous. The cabins offer you the option of cooking and bbqing your own dinner or having dinner in the restaurant or a lighter fare in the bistro. Bring all weather clothing from summer to winter. Remote, high elevation territory. No cell service or computer. Most rooms have no tv. Prepare for quiet!

It was a nice cabin where we stayed like everything was compressed and gives you a snuggled feeling. Not much privacy considering that the cabins are in a hill and somewhat close to the other cabins. Love that we have our own fireplace. Food as always is great in there. And you just walk to the hot spring.

An excellent little resort! One of the few 'Mom&Pop' places around. Clean, very well maintained, with a friendly staff. The food is good and reasonable priced. It is an ideal location to relax in the mountains -highly recommended across the board.

Room Tip: Bring your own coffee maker!

The Miette Hot Springs Resort
is located adjacent to the Miette Hot Springs Center approx. 18 km up the road from Highway 16 turnoff, high in the Rockies.
There are several options for accomodation - small cabins, and apartment style living quarters that can accomodate either singles, couples or families. The cabins are rustic and the apartments are minimalist, but the apartments do have television (which cabins do not).
Situated high in the Rockies there are options for hiking and sight-seeing, soaking in the hot springs next door or dining in the resort's restaurant that has a good menu with some very good specials including wonderful greek dishes.
The attached store provides some of the basics that you may need, but bring supplies with you unless you plan to take all meals in the restaurant or next door at the Hot Spring's snack bar.The nearest supermarket is in Jasper town (or Hinton).
This is a great home base for many day trips into the Park area and is truely a place to get away from it all as long as you have transportation.
Book EARLY in the season since cabins go quickly.

Room Tip: Cabins are rustic - apartments have sink, stove-top and refridgerator - no oven. There is a general...
