“we were sorry to leave”

What a great place to stay.
Wonderful suite with everything we needed and lots of great extras.
We were sorry we did not have the time to watch some of the movie collectionwhich included lots of films we would have loved to watch.
We were sorry to miss Lydia and Gerry but enjoyed reading their book which showed the redevelopment of the house.
Thank you to Valee for the warm welcome.
We would love to visit again and would thoroughly recommend the Bears Den
Thank you

We stayed for four nights in June, with another couple, so shared the lounge area. It was very spacious and comfortable, especially as the weather was very mixed. We also made use of the laundry facilities. The Bears Den is about 5 minutes walk from the bakery and not much more to the Tourist Information centreand railway station. Lydia and Gerry had some very helpful suggestions about where to go and what to see and we would not hesitate to recommend the Bears Den as a really great place to stay in Jasper.

Room Tip: If possible book the Whistler Suite, especially if you are likely to be about in the evenings, as ve...

We stayed at the Bear's Den in May and as two couples had both rooms. After 3 weeks staying in hotels it was fantastic to arrive at the Bear's Den with all it's home comforts - washer and dryer, lounge room, wifi, a full kitchen with everything you need.
All the little touches were great too such as cold soft drink and condiments in the fridge.
Gerry and Lydia were lovely, approachable and helpful when required and disappeared thoughtfully when not required. A great balance.
I would highly recommend staying here.

We stayed at the Bears Den for 3 nights as part of a 15 day touring holiday of the Rockies. We stayed in the Whistler Suite which has its own Lounge, Kitchen and Laundry facilities.
The Apartment is superb, clean, well appointed and confortable.
The owners were away on their own holiday when we stayed but we were very well looked after by their house sitter, Vallee.
We would very definitely recommend this B&B to fellow travellers.

Room Tip: Definitely take the Whistler Suite.

Stayed in the Bears Den for 3 nights in May and had a wonderful stay. On a 2 week trip staying in several different hotels in the rockies and Vancouver, this was by far our favourite place to stay. The room was beautifully decorated with a large, very comfy bed and a huge flat screen TV. The room was really well stocked with tea/coffee making facilities as well as soft drinks. Crockery, cutlery and glassware were provided along with toiletries in the bathroom and a selection of movies to watch. The Bear's Den was a 5 minute walk from the main street in Jasper and the amazing Bear's Paw Bakery. Gerry, the owner of the property was extremely friendly and helpful and gave us some tips on good walks and where we might spot bears. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent

This place is great. What makes it extra special is how much the owner's care about your confort and experience. She took much time to give us her best cross-country skiing and snow-shoe spots. In the B&B you have everything you need and much more. The extensive movie collection is appreciated with a hot chocolate after a day outdoor.

If someone gave you the challenge to create the perfect accommodation in Jasper, this would be it!! The attention to detail given by the owners of the Bear's Den to the Whistlers suite, one of their accommodations, borders on jaw-dropping. This superb one-bedroom suite has everything and more that you would expect from a top-notch luxury get-away!

Let's start with the bedroom. The bed was comrfortable, and there was even a flat -screen TV so that I could watch something other than the NHL playoffs that my husband was watching in the livingroom. There was a variety of pillows to choose from, from feather pillows to hypo-allergenic. And the bed linens were crisp and inviting too.

The livingroom had another flat-screen TV. The owners provided a stock of movies to watch or music to listen to. There was a full-sized sofa to crash out on, as well as a couple of very comfortable chairs. The fridge was stocked with pop, cream for your coffee, and the usual condiments.

You would have to see this kitchen to believe it. I aspire to have a kitchen like this. It was equipped with every little appliance and gadget. you could imagine. You can tell that a woman had her hand in organizing this kitchen, and she wanted even your briefest culunary experience to be fun.

We loved the bathroom with all of the little toiletries. I appreciated having a full-sized soaker tub. What a treat to look forward to after a long day of hiking or skiing.

The overall decor was cute. We came away from our stay at the Bear's Den with the conviction that the couple operating this place bent over backwards to ensure we left more than satisfied.

Despite the fact that the wife had to tend to a family emergency in another country and wasn't there during the time of our stay, her husbad was there to greet us and to ensure that we were totally pampered and taken care off. The only thing that surpasses the accommodaiton that they provide are the mountains that surround it!
